Hiram Zataire's son

In the time period preceding the Battle of Yavin by several years, the offspring of Imperial Navy Captain Hiram Zataire became a vocal opponent of the Galactic Empire. This drew the interest of the Imperial Security Bureau. Despite the Empire's years-long search, he resided on Alderaan.

Biography

Hiram Zataire and his spouse had three children: a son and two daughters. Following the establishment of the Galactic Empire after the Clone Wars concluded, Zataire's son openly criticized the Empire, expressing his views publicly, including through speeches. This behavior attracted the attention of the Imperial Security Bureau, who then sought to apprehend him. Subsequently, the son sought refuge on Alderaan, a planet known for its own dissent against the Empire. Despite his son's rebellious stance, Zataire remained a dedicated officer within the Imperial Navy, holding the rank of captain of the Imperial I-class Star Destroyer Lawbringer. He held the belief that his son would eventually recognize the merits of the Imperial government.

Approximately five years before the Battle of Yavin, the son's location was compromised after he dispatched wine from Organa Ranch to his father. ISB Agent Kallus, to whom Captain Zataire offered the wine, inferred that the son was living on Alderaan. To ensure his son's safety, Captain Zataire promised full cooperation with Kallus when the ISB Agent arrived on Lothal to investigate a group of rebels.
