A HyCor laser repeater was a kind of vent-barreled laser repeater design. Corwin Ballast, a human, possessed one of these weapons in 4 ABY, keeping it secured under his jacket and attached to his person. During a visit to Jakku, a planet located in the Inner Rim during that year, Ballast faced a threat from a rag-man and displayed his laser repeater in order to deter the man's aggression.
The novel Aftermath, published in 2015 and authored by Chuck Wendig, the first book of the Star Wars: The Aftermath Trilogy, featured a HyCor laser repeater.
