Prospector
A prospector was a type of job in the galaxy involving mining. During the age known as the High Republic Era, the designation "prospector" gained an additional meaning, referring to hyperspace prospectors, also known as hyperspace surveyors. These individuals were dedicated to discovering and mapping new routes through hyperspace. One such prospector during this time was Radicaz Dobbs. Prospectors also worked on planets like Tatooine. There was a period when several prospectors were under the impression that the mineral bene could be located at a place called Plibene Rock.
History
High Republic Era
Prospectors journeyed across the Galactic Frontier during the High Republic Era, a period characterized by significant exploration. Saretha von Beel, a prospector, conducted her operations from Black Spire Outpost which was located on Batuu around the year 382 BBY. The Grafs and the San Tekkas were two prominent families who engaged in hyperspace prospecting. The Nihil, and her family before them, utilized Mari San Tekka's unique talent for finding the Paths, which were unconventional hyperspace routes.
Before the Clone Wars
Dexter Jettster, a Besalisk prospector, discovered Kaminoan saberdarts while he was prospecting on Subterrel sometime before the Clone Wars.
