Ice gators were substantial light-blue lizard species that originated on the world of Dalna. Possessing razor-sharp teeth and claws, these creatures reached the scale of landspeeders. They inhabited the planet's polar ice caps, migrating to regions with higher temperatures as summer approached. In the year 230 BBY, a trio of Jedi Knights, specifically Vernestra Rwoh, Lyssa Votz, and Yacek Sparkburn, launched an assault on a pack of ice gators. These gators were attempting to breach metal structures to get to the son of Vice President Hackrack Bep.
A section dedicated to ice gators could be found within "Species From A to Z," a survival manual distributed by Carson Teva during the New Republic Era.
The introduction of ice gators occurred in the 2022 novel titled The High Republic: Mission to Disaster. Justina Ireland penned this work as an installment within The High Republic multimedia project. Their likeness is only visible on the book's cover.
