Identichip
An identification card
An identichip, also referred to as an identicard, or simply an identification card, functioned as a means to confirm someone's personal information. It was mandatory for citizens of the Imperial to have their identification on their person at all times.
Pilots of TIE fighters were issued a white ID card, which served the purpose of verifying who they were. They would insert this card into a designated slot on an astromech droid, awaiting an audio confirmation signal. In one instance, Sabine Wren utilized such a card to bypass the security measures at the Skystrike Academy.
With the Galactic Empire's increasing dominance over planetary trade routes, unprogrammed ID chips became extremely valuable, and individuals such as Dvorad were known to have acquired a stock of them. Enfys Nest manipulated Tobias Beckett and his team into taking Dvorad's supply, with the intention of delivering them to her. However, Beckett chose to destroy his vessel to deny her access to the ID chips.
After several months had passed into the Iron Blockade, the Rebel Alliance developed a plan to procure a collection of identicards from some of the newer members within the Bounty Hunters' Guild. A youthful rogue tasked a member of his own team with the acquisition of these cards, a service for which the Alliance provided payment.
