Ina Rece served as a female pilot of a starfighter for the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War. She was a Human character. As a member of Rascal Squadron, Rece was dispatched to the Belt of Arah in 3 ABY with the mission of finding and neutralizing the Empire's clandestine mining facility. While the Rebels were successful in destroyed the mining installation, Rece met her death shortly after in an ambush by three TIE Phantoms.
Ina Rece, a Human woman born near the end of the Galactic Republic's years, became a starfighter pilot for the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War. She served in Rascal Squadron alongside her cousin and friend Captain Ace Merrick.

In 3 ABY—around the time Rece was in her early thirties—the Alliance discovered the Galactic Empire was refining oridium ore at a hidden mining facility situated within the Belt of Arah. This facility was fueling the TIE Phantom, a new starfighter equipped with a cloaking device that the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader intended to use to crush the Rebellion. Admiral Gial Ackbar sent Rece, Merrick, and Rookie One aboard T-65 X-wing starfighters to the Dreighton Nebula to investigate the Belt of Arah and put the mining operation out of commission, in an effort to learn more about the new Imperial threat.
Upon arriving at the Belt of Arah, Rascal Squadron found derillium mines spread across the area. Merrick guided the Rebels through the perilous asteroid field, destroying any mines they found along the way. After the group had cleared the outer area, they were ambushed by numerous TIE interceptors. Rece achieved several kills as the Rebels fought their way through the Imperial starfighters, including destroying an interceptor that Rookie One was struggling to shake off his tail. Eventually, the Rebels reached the mining facility, which was built into a large asteroids. The group entered the facility through a transport corridor designed for shuttles and cargo drones, where Rookie One destroyed the shield emitters at an exchange junction, allowing access to the reactor core. The Rebels, avoiding fire from sentry guns that mistook the X-wings for floating debris, destroyed the reactor's cooling system and escaped through an exhaust vent moments before the reactor went critical, destroying the facility.
With their mission accomplished, Rascal Squadron prepared to return to the Alliance Fleet. However, just before they could jump to hyperspace, three TIE Phantoms decloaked behind them and opened fire, killing Merrick with their first attack. Caught off guard, Rece was unable to evade and was killed when the TIE Phantoms destroyed her X-wing. Rookie One managed to escape and later played a crucial role in ending the TIE Phantom threat.
Ina Rece was created for the 1995 LucasArts video game Star Wars: Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire, where she was portrayed by actress Nicole Galland. Rece appears in the levels "The Asteroid Field", "Interceptor Attack" and "The Mining Facility." If Rookie One dies during any of these levels, a game over cutscene shows Rece and Merrick continuing the mission without him.

Vincent Lee, the designer for Rebel Assault II, created storyboards and scripts that included a brief description of Rece, dated November 16, 1994. Although it was not included in the game or its manual, the biography was adapted for use on the LucasArts website, and the document was later printed in Rob Smith's Rogue Leaders: The Story of LucasArts. The online version places Rece in her early thirties during the game, while Lee's original version described her as being in her early twenties. Lee also made notes on the actors he thought most resembled each character in the game, selecting Janine Turner to represent Rece.
Props and costumes from the original trilogy of Star Wars films were utilized during the filming of Rebel Assault II. The flight helmet worn by Rece is the same design as that worn by Red Leader Garven Dreis in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, Nichos Panib in Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, and a background character in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.
