INT-4 Interceptor

The INT-4 Interceptor functioned as an aerial vehicle employed by the Galactic Empire to conduct scouting missions. This vehicle, which featured a blocky cockpit module accessible via a top hatch, two stabilizer wings, a pair of laser cannons, and landing gear, was introduced before the Battle of Hoth in 3 ABY. A modified variant existed, equipped with a short-range impact hammer designed to break down enemy fortifications. Reflecting the Galactic Empire's penchant for understated colors, INT-4 hulls were typically painted in a light gray shade.

During the Imperial occupation of the Forest Moon of Endor, an Ewok from the Bright Tree tribe, known as Peekpa, discovered a damaged INT-4 Interceptor. She attempted to repair it using scavenged components. Eventually, she succeeded in making the vehicle functional enough to achieve liftoff. Sometime afterward, the Ewok shaman Logray recounted a tale about Peekpa, including the INT-4 Interceptor, to assembled members of the Bright Tree tribe.

Behind the scenes

The INT-4 Interceptor made its initial appearance within the current Star Wars canon through Star Wars: Commander. This mobile strategy game, developed by Disney Interactive, was launched on August 21, 2014 for iOS devices. Players can incorporate the scout vehicle into their in-game armory by gathering 20 data fragments, with its usage restricted to Hoth. The INT-4 was originally conceptualized and produced by the Kenner toy company in 1982 as a component of the second series of Mini-Rigs vehicles.
