Intendant caste

Intendants fulfilled functions akin to those of organizers, bureaucrats, and logistics experts found in other species. Their duties included maintaining open supply routes and ensuring the provision of essential resources to the obedient. They also cared for the creatures crafted by the shapers and acted as the spies and front-line scouts for invading forces. Although the warriors and priests viewed them with disdain as being cunning, the intendants were responsible for the actual governance of the Yuuzhan Vong empire, possessing an adaptability that the other castes lacked. Distinct from the other elite castes, they did not have a war cry and were the smallest caste in terms of population.

Intendants were free to worship any god.

The Praetorite Vong, a Yuuzhan Vong military force, was primarily composed of members of the intendant caste.

Prior to the full-scale invasion of the galaxy, the Praetorite Vong, under the control of the intendant caste, initiated the first incursions onto the worlds designated as the Promised Land. Led by Prefect Da'Gara, they utilized a "defective" yammosk. Despite their initial advances, the Praetorite Vong were ultimately defeated, which caused a delay in the invasion until the arrival of the warrior caste.

As the Yuuzhan Vong progressively conquered territories from the New Republic and other governing bodies, the newly acquired territories were placed under the administration of the intendant caste.

Following the conclusion of the war, the intendant caste joined the other castes, coexisting peacefully on the living world of Zonama Sekot.
