The Warrior caste. The social structure of the Yuuzhan Vong was organized into distinct Yuuzhan Vong castes. An individual Yuuzhan Vong was born into a specific caste. Advancement to a higher caste was possible through exceptional deeds, but conversely, failures typically led to demotion to another caste. A strong sense of hierarchy existed within each caste.

- Warrior caste : The military force
- Intendant caste : Responsible for political and financial matters
- Priest caste : Those who communicate with the deities
- Shaper caste : The scientific community
- Worker caste : The most populous caste; performing basic, manual tasks
- Shamed Ones : The lowest social standing, Yuuzhan Vong who either failed or refused organic implants. They come from all castes but are considered part of the Workers, and are despised even by them.
- Slaves : Although slaves were not of the same species as the Yuuzhan Vong, they were utilized in combat and construction. The Vong employed slaves from their original galaxy, as well as those from conquered worlds.
