Shamed Ones

The Shamed Ones constituted a unique caste within the ranks of the Yuuzhan Vong. Individuals designated as Shamed Ones were considered "flawed" due to various reasons, such as failing in other castes, experiencing implant rejection, committing acts of heresy, or possessing physical deformities. Although classified under the worker caste, they faced significant disdain, even from their fellow workers. It was believed that the gods had forsaken them, leaving them only with Yun-Shuno as their deity. Their presence at significant religious ceremonies was viewed as a grave offense to the respective god.

Following the Yuuzhan Vong's assault on Yavin 4, and the subsequent redemption of Vua Rapuung, the Shamed Ones developed a belief that the Force represented the remnants of Yun-Yuuzhan, and that the Jedi shared a connection with the Yuuzhan Vong. This led to the creation of the Jeedai heresy, with Nom Anor adopting the persona of the prophet Yu'shaa, prophesying that the arrival of Zonama Sekot would bring an end to the Shamed Ones' subjugation. They rebelled against Supreme Overlord Shimrra and the Warrior caste, and the resulting turmoil proved crucial during the Battle of Yuuzhan'tar. In the aftermath of the war, the Shamed Ones received a new designation: the Extolled.
