This droid possessed masculine programming and was under the service of Caern Adan, an agent working for New Republic Intelligence. During the year 4 ABY, Adan assigned IT-O the responsibility of assisting him in determining the sincerity of Yrica Quell, an Imperial defector, and her dedication to the New Republic. IT-O then took on the role of Quell's therapist, providing assistance as she processed the traumatic events she endured while executing Operation: Cinder.
