Jagi

Jagi

Before the Mandalorian Wars began, a male Human Mandalorian named Jagi served as a subordinate to Canderous Ordo. In 3976 BBY, during the capture of the planet Althir by the Mandalorians, Jagi was under Ordo's command. Ordo, seeking a swift victory, abandoned Jagi and his fellow soldiers during the conflict, leading to their demise. Jagi vowed to avenge what he perceived as Ordo's act of cowardice.

In 3956 BBY, the concluding year of the Jedi Civil War, Jagi crossed paths with Ordo. At the time, Ordo was assisting Revan, a Jedi Padawan, in locating the Star Forge, an ancient Rakatan superweapon that was empowering the Sith Empire's war efforts. This encounter led Jagi to challenge Ordo to a duel in the Dune Sea of Tatooine. Eventually, near a wrecked sandcrawler owned by the Czerka Corporation, he and two hired thugs confronted Ordo and Revan.

Biography

During a battle for the world of Althir, Ordo noticed a vulnerability in the Althiri fleet and decided to redirect his forces to exploit it, which left Jagi and his men in a perilous situation. Most of the Mandalorians under Jagi's leadership perished, and Jagi believed Ordo had deserted them without justification. However, Ordo later explained that his actions were intended to save a greater number of his warriors.

After years spent tracking his former commander, Jagi finally located him on a planet containing a Star Map. He challenged Ordo to a duel within the Dune Sea of Tatooine, threatening to strip him of his honor in the eyes of all Mandalorians. To ensure this, he claimed to have notified every surviving clan of his intentions.

Canderous was greatly affected by Jagi's death.

Accompanied by two Rodian mercenaries, Jagi awaited Ordo on Tatooine. They met in the shadow of a destroyed Czerka Sandcrawler. Revan's intervention allowed Ordo to explain his decision during the battle of Althir, convincing Jagi that his actions had saved many Mandalorian lives and were in line with Mandalore's teachings regarding opportunism and adaptability in combat.

Jagi, realizing his error in questioning Ordo's integrity and lacking any other way to atone for his accusations, ultimately took his own life to die with honor. Following this, Revan and Ordo defeated the two Rodian thugs. Ordo, deeply affected by the events, thanked Revan for his intervention, stating that he needed time to contemplate what had transpired.

Behind the scenes

Jagi made an appearance in the 2003 video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, which was created by BioWare. He was also mentioned in the official strategy guide for Knights of the Old Republic, where his name is spelled "Jagy." The character was given an entry in The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia.

Within the game, players can choose from multiple paths to complete the side quest focusing on Jagi. If the player fails to persuade Jagi to understand Ordo's perspective, Jagi and his men will attack, resulting in their deaths. Conversely, if the player attempts to use Force Persuasion to dissuade Jagi from fighting, Canderous will express his disapproval, and Jagi will attack regardless. Regardless of the player's actions, Canderous will react similarly after the fight, and neither choice influences the player's alignment.
