Jans Coorsa was a male individual, a native of the planet Gall. He governed a small clan of several thousand people there as their Cacique before the Clone Wars. His people were employed as supervisors in factories, where they manufactured components for capital ships made by Rothana Heavy Engineering. A fervent supporter of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Coorsa celebrated when the Gall council of elders decided to align with the Confederacy. The Galactic Republic, however, could not risk losing the naval supply depot located on Gall, and thus initiated a siege of the world. Throughout the Clone Wars, Coorsa spearheaded a resistance against the Republic, earning the moniker "Phantom of Gall" due to his skill in devising intricate plans that relied on accurately predicting enemy actions.
Following the end of the Clone Wars, Coorsa persisted in his resistance even after Sheev Palpatine's proclamation transforming the Republic into the Galactic Empire. The Empire, however, uncovered the identity of the Phantom of Gall and responded by launching an orbital bombardment upon his village. Consequently, acting on the advice of his rival Lira Hardin, a member of the Hardin family, he departed Gall with his grandson, Kal Coorsa, and the surviving members of their clan, relocating to the Outer Rim world of Xorrn.
Upon arriving on Xorrn, Coorsa and Hardin revived the Geonosian-constructed droid factories of Foundry Four, which had been abandoned since the Clone Wars. They eventually established an orbital repair yard above the planet, where he assumed leadership of the facility's governing body, the Clan Assembly. Later, Coorsa died under mysterious circumstances, and in accordance with his last will, his grandson was appointed as the interim cacique, a position he diligently worked to maintain through multiple Clan Assembly votes.
Jans Coorsa received a mention in the 2016 adventure book Friends Like These published by Fantasy Flight Games. This book was a component of the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion roleplaying game.
