Jara fish

A jara fish was a species of fish that inhabited the planet of Mon Cala. When Ghal Tarpfen was a young Mon Calamari, she would often sit outside her underwater dwelling, observing the debris drifting down from the surface. On one day, she witnessed a jara fish that was dead. The sight was made all the more unsettling by the fact that the creature was in multiple fragments: its fin, tail, and head, with its eyes gazing blankly. Later in her life, when she was being blackmailed by the Nihil marauders, Tarpfen experienced a similar feeling of being dismembered and lost, much like that jara fish she had seen long ago.
