This spaceport was the singular spaceport serving Jedha City, a walled city situated on the arid desert moon named Jedha. Constructed in the distant past to manage the flow of pilgrim and tourist visitors to the planet, the spaceport had become both congested and obsolete. Upon seizing control of the city, the Galactic Empire deemed the existing spaceport insufficient for their requirements. Consequently, they swiftly began preparing four distinct sites within the city to function as landing zones and operational hubs. Given Jedha City's mesa-top construction, expanding the spaceport proved impossible. To establish these landing zones, the Imperials demolished existing structures without consideration for the inhabitants or enterprises they evicted. These landing zones received the designations LZ-Aurek, LZ-Besh, LZ-Cresh, and LZ-Dorn.
