The Jedi Colony came into being on Ossus (planet) following the Eternal Empire conquest. Gnost-Dural, a Jedi Master, founded this settlement intending to bring together the Jedi who had lived through the war. In time, Dural was joined by Archiban Frodrick Kimble, Nadia Grell, Pilgrims from Kalikori, and other colonists; together, they pioneered sophisticated farming methods that enabled them to cultivate plants despite the radioactive and poisonous environment. Tau Idair, a Jedi, was in charge of security for the Colony.
