Jiguuna was a significant industrial town constructed by the Bakuush on Nal Hutta, the adopted homeworld of the Hutts.
Roughly 200 years prior to the Cold War, Bakuush, the town's founder, met his end in a mechanical mishap, which created a struggle for power among various gangs within the town. Suudaa Nem'ro, another Hutt, seized control of the town through coercion and violence, ultimately becoming its unchallenged leader.
During the time of the Cold War, the town became a hotbed of conflict between the forces loyal to Nem'ro and those belonging to his rival, Voontara Fa'athra. Furthermore, during this period, all newcomers arriving on the planet were directed to the town's spaceport. Notable individuals who visited included the future Grand Champion of the Great Hunt, sponsored by the Hutt to participate in that competition, and a Cipher Nine agent from the reconstituted Sith Empire, who successfully persuaded Nem'ro to pledge his allegiance to the Empire.
