John Goodson is a digital artist and model maker. He contributed to the 2002 movie, Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones, as a concept modeler, building a scaled-down version of the XJ-6 airspeeder. For one scene, Goodson acted as a stand-in for Samuel L. Jackson as Mace Windu, because he was able to fit into the costume worn by Jackson. In 2021, Goodson remembered that the scene probably showed his character in conversation with Yoda, but he called his role "basically a mannequin."
Later, Goodson used his skills on the The Mandalorian series on Disney+, where he was involved in creating models of the Razor Crest and Gideon's light cruiser. For "The Siege," an episode of the show, he collaborated with John Knoll, the executive creative director at Industrial Light & Magic, on multiple versions of the light cruiser's opening shot, refining the model's look until they were both happy with it. Goodson left ILM in 2019 after working there for more than two decades.
