Jonah Carter

Jonah Carter served as a Commissioner within the Corellian Security Force. He was a male Human who lived through both the Cold War era and the renewed conflict between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire.

Biography

Jonah Carter championed the Corellian population as he fought against both the criminal element and the corrupt officials infesting CorSec and the government. Carter, having survived the political purge that occurred before the Imperial forces took control of the Corellian government, rose to become a leader for the civilian resistance. This group sought to remove the Empire from the planet during the Battle of Corellia.

Ultimately, Darth Tormen, a Sith Lord, dispatched a famous bounty hunter to apprehend him. When confronted in CorSec HQ, Carter, assuming the mercenary was there to assassinate him, warned that his death would ignite widespread riots among the Corellian people. The Hunter, however, revealed that his objective was not to kill him. Carter, deducing that the hunter was employed by the Empire, somberly reminded him that his employers were not mere criminals, but tyrants. He cautioned that his capture would force Corellia to submit to the Sith, questioning whether the Hunter's conscience had been silenced by monetary gain. The Hunter responded that it was preferable to a massacre of Corellians. Carter then seized the opportunity to evade capture as his allies positioned on the upper floors deployed a flash grenade, temporarily blinding the Hunter and their associate. Despite the initial advantage, Carter and his team were ultimately defeated. Acknowledging his defeat, Carter asserted that Corellia would endure beyond the Empire's reign, but his adversary disregarded his idealism and encased him in carbonite. Upon being presented to Darth Tormen, the Sith Lord thawed the commissioner and coerced him into signing a treaty that mandated Corellia's departure from the Republic.
