Jybbuk slush


Jybbyk slush, a red colored slush drink, was made using jybbuk-fruit. This slush was enjoyed by the inhabitants of the planet Etai with condensed nerf milk poured on top, along with a customary fruit garnish, resulting in a sugary treat. Later, Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs modified this recipe; he swapped the usual garnish for candied hot peppers to introduce a spicy counterpoint to the sweetness, thus inventing Spiced Jybbuk Juice. Tuggs, after his interstellar culinary journey between 34 ABY and 35 ABY, featured the Spiced Jybbuk Juice recipe in his third cookbook, The Ultimate Cookbook, which hit shelves in 35 ABY.

Behind the scenes

The creation of Jybbuk slush occurred for the 2023 publication of Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook, a cookbook authored by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak. In the out-of-universe world, the Spiced Jybbuk Juice recipe calls for a combination of frozen strawberries, frozen watermelon, coconut water, and lime juice in order to mimic the taste of jybbuk slush.
