Kal-tan-shi

Kal-tan-shi, a male Tiss'shar from his species, made his living as a bounty hunter during the most intense period of the Galactic Civil War. His gender was male.

Biography

The career of Kal-tan-shi began when he was a hunter in the service of House Paramexor, where he specialized in bounties that were not alive. It was during this period that a heated rivalry started between him and another bounty hunter, named Ssach'thirix. Furthermore, he began to feel a strong hatred and almost a phobia of droids.

After a successful period working for Paramexor, he ultimately decided that he would be better off working independently, possibly to better pursue his rival Ssach'thirix, even though Paramexor was in the middle of customizing his starship at the time (the modifications were never finished). Even though Guild Master Janq Paramexor disapproved of this choice, Janq and Kal-tan-shi remained good friends and were seen eating together years later.

Kal-tan-shi frequently took on bounties that were targeting members of the Rebel Alliance because the reward was generally larger than the money offered for pirates, smugglers, or criminals, and because it presented a greater challenge. He would often kill his targets if the bounty was the same whether they were captured alive or killed. By 2 ABY, he had either captured or killed at least seventeen Rebel operatives, including Generals Tfin and Wuvnir, who were high-ranking, at Yuhli Docking Port 32. He also murdered two Mon Calamari envoys and their seven-member security detail in the Veron Minor system.

Tole Warren, a Rebel lieutenant, was tasked with tracking Kal-tan-shi because he was the only non-droid who could speak Tiss'shar fluently. Warren never succeeded in his mission, but he did locate the bounty hunter's ship, the Accuser, and noticed a problem with the starboard thrust converter. Warren passed this information along for future Rebel observers.
