Kara'Teel

Kara'Teel was a witch from the Singing Mountain Clan of Dathomir, and a female. To protect her mother, Augwynne Djo, who was also the leader of their clan, from the schemes of her older sister Gethzerion, she sacrificed her life. After Kara'Teel's passing, Augwynne exiled Gethzerion and grieved for Kara'Teel.

Biography

A female witch of the Singing Mountain Clan, Kara'Teel was native to the planet Dathomir in the Outer Rim Territories; this clan was part of the Djo family. She was the youngest daughter of Augwynne Djo, the Human leader of the clan, and the younger sister to Gethzerion, Barukka, and Allaya Djo.

Gethzerion, seeking to gain control over the Singing Mountain Clan, formed an alliance with the witch Baritha in a plot to murder their mother. By 8 ABY, during Gethzerion's attempt on Augwynne's life, Kara'Teel gave her own life to save her mother. Mother Augwynne then banished both Baritha and Gethzerion, leading them to create the Nightsisters coven, also known as the Witches of Dathomir. Following Allaya's death in combat, Augwynne mourned the loss of two of her daughters and adopted Aelta and Chastina as daughters between 0 ABY and approximately 1 ABY. A New Republic Intelligence dossier, prepared for General Airen Cracken, mentioned Kara'Teel's death at her sister's hand.

Behind the scenes

The supplementary reference book Cracken's Threat Dossier, which accompanied West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game and was released in 1997, contained the first mention of Kara'Teel.
