Kleef was a male Otolla Gungan combatant, seasoned by his experiences in the Battle of Naboo. This veteran briefly found himself as part of Senator Jar Jar Binks's security force on the galactic capital world of Coruscant, but he ultimately chose a life of crime. Throughout the Clone Wars, Kleef made a living as a bounty hunter. In time, he rose to become the second-in-command for the Mandalorian crime lord Chop'aa Notimo's band of mercenary soldiers.
During 2 BBY, Kleef participated in Notimo's attack on the Cloud City mining colony situated above the gas giant Bespin. Following Notimo's instructions, Kleef seized Senator Garm Bel Iblis, delivering him to his superior. Soon after, Kleef was confronted by Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader's secret apprentice, Starkiller, who was determined to rescue the senator. Despite activating two Heavy Tactical Fighting Unit droids in anticipation of the fight, Kleef met his death at Starkiller's hand.

Kleef was a male Otolla Gungan warrior from the planet Naboo. Back in 32 BBY, Kleef took up arms to free his homeworld from the invading Trade Federation during the Battle of Naboo, and he lived through the entire ordeal. Shortly after the Trade Federation was driven off Naboo, Kleef departed his world for the galactic capital of Coruscant, joining the security detail of the Gungan Senator Jar Jar Binks.
However, growing weary of his position and seeking both adventure and credits, Kleef abandoned Binks's service and became involved in the illicit activities of the Coruscant underworld. As the Clone Wars unfolded, Kleef found a profitable application for his combat abilities, becoming a bounty hunter and working for whoever paid the most. Eventually, Kleef's path crossed with that of Mandalorian criminal kingpin Chop'aa Notimo, who hired the Gungan to train his mercenary soldiers. Kleef then rose to become Notimo's most trusted lieutenant and second-in-command.
In 2 BBY, Notimo's forces launched an attack on the Cloud City mining colony above the gas giant Bespin, engaging in battle with the Bespin Wing Guard, who were under the command of the cyborg Lobot, the city's computer liaison officer. Senator Garm Bel Iblis happened to be on Cloud City during the attack. He went to the loading bays in an attempt to negotiate a peaceful resolution with Notimo. However, Notimo chose to exploit the situation by having the senator kidnapped, sending his bounty hunters to carry out the task. Kleef successfully captured Bel Iblis and delivered him to Notimo. Meanwhile, Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader's secret apprentice, Starkiller, arrived at Cloud City, searching for the Senator in the hopes of gaining his support in forming an alliance against the Galactic Empire. Starkiller began to fight his way through the colony, battling Notimo's mercenaries. Upon learning of Starkiller's presence, Kleef made sure to prepare himself for a fight, as he always did. The Gungan retreated to one of Cloud City's high-rise buildings, supported by two Heavy Tactical Fighting Unit (H-TFU) droids.

As Kleef finalized the preparations for the droids, Starkiller entered the building and confronted the Gungan, demanding to know the senator's location. Kleef only revealed that Notimo was holding Bel Iblis hostage but withheld the precise location. As Starkiller ignited his lightsaber, Kleef activated the droids and brandished a bladed weapon, ready to fight. In the ensuing conflict, Starkiller destroyed the H-TFUs and engaged Kleef in close combat, disarming the Gungan. The Sith apprentice then used the Force to grip the Gungan, choking him and throwing him out of a window to his death, his body impacting Cloud City's heavy traffic below. Eventually, the aspiring Sith found Bel Iblis and rescued the senator after killing Notimo.
Kleef found the life of a security guard dull and readily exchanged it for the life of a mercenary and bounty hunter, seeking excitement and quick money. Kleef was loyal to Notimo, and Notimo, in turn, trusted him. Kleef took pride in his species and was offended by the mere suggestion that Starkiller might consider himself superior to a Gungan.
Kleef also took pride in his thorough preparation, ensuring that he always had the necessary equipment to deal with his targets. During his fight with the Sith apprentice, Kleef maintained a cool demeanor, downplaying Starkiller's powers and mockingly pretending to be afraid. He was determined to kill Starkiller and relished the thought. When the Sith apprentice inquired about Bel Iblis's whereabouts, Kleef responded with laughter. However, after Starkiller ignited his lightsaber, Kleef became serious, admitting that the situation was "not so funny" anymore. Kleef had [orange](/article/color-legends]-colored eyes and green skin. At some point in his life, Kleef sustained an injury that resulted in the loss of his entire right eyestalk and most of his right haillu, the Gungan ear.
During his battle against Starkiller, Kleef wielded a melee blade in addition to the H-TFU droids, complementing it with boomas, the traditional Gungan weapon. Kleef wore long red straps that flowed from his wrist and white straps around his lower arms. He also wore a black shoulder pad on his left side and a vest instead of a full shirt.
Kleef was a creation of Krome Studios for the PlayStation 2, Wikipedia:PlayStation Portable, and Nintendo Wii versions of the 2008 video game The Force Unleashed, where he was voiced by Kristoffer Tabori, who also voiced Kleef's kidnapping target, Garm Bel Iblis. Concept art referred to the character as "Mister Gung." In the game, Kleef can be unlocked as a playable character skin using the cheat code "KLEEF." However, when Kleef is selected, the cutscenes are disabled.
