Behold a fresh iteration of the Jedi, tailored for a new epoch in the Star Wars universe!
Jedi Knight Kerra Holt believed herself adequately prepared for any eventuality on her voluntary assignment, which led her deep within Sith territory. However, now stranded beyond friendly lines, Kerra faces the prospect of existing without the Republic's backing...and should her impetuous nature continue to dictate her actions, she risks losing all support entirely!
This comic book picks up directly following the devastating Raid on Chelloa, an event that resulted in the annihilation of Jedi Master Vannar Treece's combat team. The only one to survive the Jedi mission was a youthful Jedi Knight by the name of Kerra Holt. In a flashback, Kerra reflects on her childhood during the Sith invasion of her home planet, Aquilaris Minor, and her subsequent interaction with Vannar, which steered her onto the Jedi path. Significant portions of Jenith suffer damage from the fighting, resulting in considerable civilian deaths. Lord Daiman himself makes an appearance, determined to uncover how his adversaries, Odion and the Jedi, discovered the baradium mining operation. He confronts Gorlan and then inappropriately touches Kerra, unaware that she is a Jedi. Displaying a lack of concern for his people, Daiman abandons them to their fate. Kerra discovers that Gorlan is a former Jedi who abandoned the Order out of a greater concern for the well-being of ordinary individuals. He also presents her to his family. Concurrently, multiple mobile munitions complexes and a number of passenger transports arrive at Jenith and Arboth, suggesting Daiman's intention to escalate baradium operations on Chelloa significantly.
Unable to persuade Gorlan to join her in resisting the Sith occupation, Kerra embarks on a quest to assassinate Lord Daiman. She manages to infiltrate his alpine compound and witnesses him torturing the Rodian mechanic Skodo to his death for acquiring a transmitter. During their confrontation, Kerra gains the upper hand over her Sith adversary by immobilizing him within a suspension field. However, before she can deliver the final blow, Daiman reveals a hidden strategy. He discloses that Odion is planning to obliterate Chelloa using several kinetic corruptors, sizable vehicles designed to ignite unstable baradium shale deposits. He also informs her about Odion's mobile space station, The Spike, located in the Chelloa system's outer reaches.
