Kosh Teradoc, younger sibling to Treuten Teradoc, also achieved the ranks of Imperial admiral and warlord.
Kosh Teradoc's origins were humble, born on the planet Er'Kit within the Outer Rim Territories. During his formative years, both Kosh and his elder brother, Treuten – born a single year prior – shared aspirations linked to Piethet Brighteyes and the raiders of the Ryloth Ark, a work of fiction.
Despite lacking physical prowess, Kosh, alongside his brother, joined the Corulag Academy, an Imperial institution situated on Corulag. Kosh demonstrated exceptional aptitude for naval theory, fostering a competitive environment with his brother. His dedication bore fruit, achieving the rank of captain nearly simultaneously with his brother. Both were assigned to Crimson Command, a fleet of red-armored Victory-class Star Destroyers intended as a quick-response unit in the Quelii Oversector, under the leadership of High Admiral Zsinj. Kosh's rivalry with his brother persisted, especially when the latter was elevated to High Admiral and given command of Crimson Command. This fueled Kosh's ambition to attain his own admiralty, coupled with command of the larger, more advanced Imperial II-class Star Destroyer named Lancet.
Not participating in the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, Kosh, like many Imperials (including his brother), turned rogue, establishing his own dominion. While his brother remained in the Mid Rim to govern the newly established Greater Maldrood, Kosh emulated Admiral Blitzer Harrsk and ventured into the Deep Core. He dedicated himself to the art of warfare, building an empire within the Deep Core, engaging in constant conflicts and absorbing adversaries, while forming and breaking alliances with Harrsk. His numerous triumphs led to him adopting the title of High Admiral and commanding a formidable military force. However, these victories bred arrogance, leading him to compare himself to warlords such as Zakrinand Minus and Mandalore the First.
In 8 ABY, Kosh was compelled to assist his brother, after Treuten interfered in a conflict involving the Empire and the New Republic, drawing the ire of both factions. Following the rescue, Kosh and Treuten merged their Mid-Rim and Deep Core holdings, forming the Federated Teradoc Union. Their territory expanded as they conquered towards one another. However, their alliance nearly dissolved when Leonia Tavira, a former Moff turned pirate, manipulated them, though they managed to suppress their jealousy to pledge allegiance to the resurrected Palpatine, addressed as the Omnipotent Battle Leader. Shortly after swearing loyalty to the reborn Emperor, a full-scale war with the New Republic erupted. Treuten struggled in this conflict, prompting Kosh to order him and his damaged Crimson Command into the Deep Core, while Kosh focused on preserving their Mid-Rim territories.
This decision would have dire consequences for both Teradocs. Eager to impress his younger brother, Treuten engaged Supreme Warlord Blitzer Harrsk, resulting in a costly war of attrition. When Admiral Natasi Daala attempted to mediate between the feuding warlords in the Deep Core, Treuten's attack on Harrsk's fleet and Harrsk's retaliatory strike on Teradoc's fortress convinced her to ally with Teradoc's second-in-command, Gilad Pellaeon. Together, they convened a meeting of the 13 most powerful Imperial warlords. When they refused to unite, Daala had them all, including Treuten, assassinated with poison gas.
Despite their past animosity, Kosh was deeply affected by Treuten's death. While he continued to control his brother's diminished Greater Maldrood, the loss of his brother and so many other warlords led him to consider retirement. In 13 ABY, Teradoc visited a club on the planet Ryvester with bodyguards, intending to retrieve a valuable artifact from Captain Hachat inside a bar. "Hatchet" was an alias used by Garik "Face" Loran of Wraith Squadron, who had lured Teradoc to rescue Doctor Mulus Cheems, a mineral analyst held prisoner by Teradoc for his own purposes. Wraith Squadron created a diversion, successfully rescuing Cheems while Teradoc acquired his artifact.
As Wraith Squadron later revealed to Cheems, the artifact was made from a modified form of anthracite, a type of starship fuel, in crystallized form. Equipped with atmospheric pressure meters, it was designed to detonate deep within Teradoc's base on Ryvester to destroy his research and development labs, where plague viruses, toxins, and a sonic device designed to shatter lightsaber crystals were being developed. Upon reaching the depth of Teradoc's personal vault, the device detonated, killing Teradoc and activating the lab's automated decontamination measures, ensuring complete sterilization.
Kosh Teradoc was conceived by Star Wars author Aaron Allston and debuted in his novel X-Wing: Mercy Kill.
In 2020, Leland Chee verified that the Teradoc featured in X-Wing: The Bacta War, the fourth installment of the X-Wing series, was Kosh, not Treuten Teradoc.
