Lamilla Tion worked for Cygnus Spaceworks, the starship manufacturer, and served as the design head for the Abecederian line of executive shuttles. These shuttles were crafted by Cygnus for Republic Sienar Systems and later Sienar Fleet Systems. Tion, a sculptor with a passion for paper-folding, incorporated a costly variable geometry landing system into all her designs. This was done both to reduce the docked size of each craft and to express her artistic and spiritual convictions. The designs originating from Cygnus's Mid Rim studios were known for several distinctive traits, including graceful contours, three-winged symmetry, and folding wings for landing.
This encompassed the Delta-class T-3c shuttle. Initially, this shuttle was a minor project within Sienar Fleet Systems, serving as a design exploration tool with no production plans. However, Director Orson Krennic of the Galactic Empire grew fond of it, leading to its eventual manufacturing. She held the same name as Lord Tion of the Galactic Empire.
The character Lamilla Tion was initially referenced within Star Wars: Rogue One: The Ultimate Visual Guide, a 2016 reference work authored by Pablo Hidalgo.
