This occurred approximately five years prior to the Battle of Yavin. Aboard Tion's flagship, the Captain Hiram Zataire's youngest daughter held the position of lieutenant.
The character of Lord Tion first appeared in the 1981 radio adaptation of the original Star Wars film. The 2003 comic book series Star Wars: Empire provided further details about him, specifically in its fifth issue. These narratives are classified under Star Wars Legends, formerly known as the Expanded Universe, making them non-canon. Despite this, both Lord Tion and the Devastator as his flagship were referenced in Michael Kogge's 2014 canon novel, The Rebellion Begins.
