Lira San, the original homeworld of the Lasat species, was a secluded planet situated in the Wild Space area of the galaxy's Lira San system. The planet's location, obscured by a perilous nebula that had arisen from the destruction of a star cluster, meant it was largely cut off from the rest of the galaxy. Although many Lasat inhabited Lasan, millions more continued to live on Lira San. However, the inhabitants of Lasan had largely forgotten about Lira San, knowing of it only through an age-old prophecy. This prophecy spurred Garazeb Orrelios, Chava, and Gron—three Lasat who, aided by the Alliance to Restore the Republic—to locate Lira San in the aftermath of the nearly exterminated Lasan people by the Galactic Empire.
After the conclusion of the Galactic Civil War, Zeb brought Alexsandr Kallus, a former agent of the Imperial Security Bureau, to Lira San, so he could demonstrate to Kallus that the Lasat race had not been completely wiped out. Kallus was then invited to become a member of their community.
