Llaban, a Human male hailing from Kirrek, took on the role of leading the rebel forces in opposition to Empress Teta's military during the Unification Wars within the Koros system. The clash between Llaban's forces and the Tetan military occurred in 5000 BBY during the confrontation on Kirrek. Despite the rebels successfully besieging the Tetans for over a month, Teta ultimately secured victory through the intervention of Jedi Knights Odan-Urr and Memit Nadill. Later that year, following the commencement of the Great Hyperspace War, Teta appointed Llaban to lead the defense against the Sith Empire on Kirrek, motivated by his desire for amnesty and his prior involvement in the Unification Wars. Despite the seemingly insurmountable odds against the formidable Sith force, Llaban and his army achieved remarkable success, ultimately winning the second battle on Kirrek.
Llaban was a Human male who originated from the planet Kirrek within the Koros system. In the year 5000 BBY, Empress Teta, a political figure, initiated a campaign aimed at uniting the seven worlds comprising the Koros system. Llaban, in opposition to Teta's vision of a unified Koros system, spearheaded a ragtag army consisting of rebels and pirates to resist Teta's forces on Kirrek. During the Battle of Kirrek, which served as the culmination of the Koros Unification Wars, Llaban's rebels encircled and laid siege to Teta's forces within a citadel. The siege persisted for a month until the besieged Tetan soldiers received assistance from Jedi Knights Memit Nadill and Odan-Urr, who employed the Force power of battle meditation to bolster the morale of the Tetan forces while simultaneously diminishing the morale of Llaban's rebels. Despite a desperate attempt to down Tetan supply ships with turret fire, Llaban and his rebels ultimately suffered defeat in the Battle of Kirrek.
Later that year, forces commanded by Naga Sadow, the Dark Lord of the Sith and ruler of the long-isolated Sith Empire, launched an invasion of the Galactic Republic. This conflict, known as the Great Hyperspace War, unfolded on two fronts: one at the Republic capital of Coruscant and the other within the Koros system. As the battle for the Koros system loomed, Llaban approached Empress Teta at her palace in the city of Cinnagar on Koros Major, seeking permission for himself and his rebels to join the fight against the Sith in exchange for amnesty for their involvement in the rebellion. Despite strong opposition from Vontaige, one of Teta's top advisors and generals, Teta entrusted Llaban with the defense of Kirrek. Furthermore, Teta pledged to recall prisoners of war exiled to Ronika to bolster Llaban's forces in Kirrek's defense. Alongside Jedi Knight Odan-Urr and Jedi Master Ooroo, Llaban rallied his former rebel army, preparing them for battle against the Sith by fortifying their positions with sharpened wooden stakes and trenches. The formidable Sith fleet materialized in the sky, deploying dropships carrying troops to the surface, marking the commencement of the Battle of Kirrek.
Despite the valiant efforts of Llaban and his army against the Sith, the sheer magnitude of the enemy force, which included numerous massive Sith war behemoths, appeared overwhelming. Even with Odan-Urr's battle meditation, the Sith Massassi warriors managed to breach their lines. As the Massassi advanced, Llaban ordered a retreat. However, Ooroo finally entered the fray. As a Celegian, Ooroo resided within a container filled with cyanogen gas, which he required to breathe. Recognizing that cyanogen gas was poisonous to oxygen breathers, Ooroo punctured several holes in his container, allowing the winds to carry the gas toward the Sith. While initially successful, the invaders continued to pour in. Ultimately, ships carrying reinforcements from Ronika arrived, instilling new hope for victory in Llaban and his army. The combination of the soldiers from Ronika and Ooroo's cyanogen gas proved fatal for the Sith, securing victory in the Battle of Kirrek.
Despite his initial opposition to Empress Teta during the Unification Wars, Llaban demonstrated humility by appealing to her before the outbreak of the Great Hyperspace War. He proved to be a capable leader, as evidenced by his ability to assemble a rebel army on Kirrek and lead them to significant success in both the Unification Wars and the Great Hyperspace War. Llaban willingly served Teta even after his defeat in the Unification Wars and expressed shock and gratitude for her decision to grant prisoners from Ronika to reinforce his forces. During battle, Llaban adorned his face with orange war paint.
Llaban's debut occurred in Tales of the Jedi: The Fall of the Sith Empire, a story arc within the Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi comic book series, authored by Kevin J. Anderson and released in 1997. He appeared in the third and fourth issues of The Fall of the Sith Empire, with illustrations by Dario Carrasco, Jr..
