Loddu, a Hutt of minor standing within the Hutt Cartel, played a role in its activities. Specifically, in 3638 BBY, following the Cartel's annexation of the planet Makeb, he received the assignment of locating any potential rivals to the Cartel's isotope-5 mining endeavors. Loddu came across a group of geologists who had discovered substantial mineral deposits located on an asteroid. Dissatisfied with his limited share of the profits from Makeb, he dispatched mercenaries to seize both the geologists and the asteroid, which subsequently became known as Mek-Sha. During the subsequent months, Loddu oversaw the transportation of both enslaved people and bodyguards to the asteroid, transforming it into a mining facility. However, the pace of production proved to be slow. Against the advice of his subordinates, Loddu insisted on the use of explosives to expedite the clearing of areas within the asteroid. The resulting detonation caused widespread destruction across the asteroid, leading to the killing of Loddu himself, along with numerous mercenaries and enslaved individuals. Following this disaster, Loddu's sibling, Prava, reluctantly assumed control of the station, only to discover that the explosion had, in fact, exposed the mineral deposits that Loddu had originally sought.
A Codex entry entitled "The Hutts Discover Mek-Sha," found within Onslaught, a Digital Expansion from 2019 for the 2011 BioWare video game, Star Wars: The Old Republic, makes mention of Loddu.
