During the conflict known as the Clone Wars, the Galactic Republic established a task force with the objective of liberating Republic troops who were marooned on Lola Sayu. This task force was comprised of four Venator-class Star Destroyers that were involved in the Battle of Lola Sayu; however, one of these vessels sustained significant damage and was removed from combat. Furthermore, squadrons of ARC-170 starfighters were deployed on each of the Star Destroyers, along with a minimum of one space gunship. Leading this task force were four Jedi Generals: Plo Koon, Saesee Tiin, Adi Gallia, and Kit Fisto, who served alongside Admiral Barton Coburn. Furthermore, the 104th Battalion was included in the task force's ground forces, and they operated at least one of the Star Destroyers.
