Kit Fisto, a male Nautolan exceptionally attuned to the Force, achieved the rank of Jedi Master in the Jedi Order during the Galactic Republic's twilight era (the final years). He gained renown as a masterful swordsman, considered among the most skilled duelists within the Order. Highly regarded as a warrior, Fisto held the position of Jedi General within the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars, a massive galaxy-spanning conflict between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Participating in numerous campaigns, he was eventually elevated to membership in the Jedi High Council because of his actions in the war.
Early in the Clone Wars, Fisto participated in several engagements, including the opening conflict on Geonosis and a subsequent covert operation on Hissrich. After Nute Gunray, a Separatist leader, escaped Republic custody, Fisto and his former Padawan, Nahdar Vebb, were assigned to locate the fugitive. However, their mission took a turn when they confronted the infamous Jedi hunter and Separatist General, Grievous, in his personal lair. While Vebb perished in combat with Grievous, Fisto nearly defeated the General and escaped, though he failed to capture Gunray, rendering the mission unsuccessful.
During a period of unrest (a schism) between the Mon Calamari and Quarren on Mon Cala, Fisto was dispatched to support the Mon Calamari against the Separatist-backed Quarren forces. The battle proved challenging, with the Separatists gaining the upper hand. As a Separatist victory seemed imminent, Fisto and several others went into hiding, but he was eventually captured and subjected to torture. Later, the Mon Calamari and Quarren reconciled, driving back the Separatists with the assistance of the liberated Fisto. Following the Mon Cala campaign, Fisto became more involved in the High Council's activities. Near the war's end, Anakin Skywalker revealed to Mace Windu that Chancellor Palpatine was secretly a Sith Lord. Windu, accompanied by Fisto and fellow Masters Saesee Tiin and Agen Kolar, went to Palpatine's office to arrest him. The Sith Lord swiftly eliminated Kolar and Tiin, and Fisto succumbed moments later to Sidious's blade, followed shortly by Windu.
Originating from Glee Anselm, Kit Fisto, a Nautolan, was inducted into the ranks of the Jedi Order. He ascended to the rank of Jedi Master. Fisto maintained known associations with fellow Jedi such as Aayla Secura and Saesee Tiin. In 34 BBY, during an assignment where Jedi were sent to confront the warlord [Guattako]((/article/guattako), who had abducted twenty-six children for use as soldiers on the planet Oosalon, Fisto and other Jedi remained in reserve. Mace Windu allowed himself to be captured to uncover Guattako's location. Once Windu signaled them through the Force, Fisto and the others navigated Oosalon's extensive tunnels, reaching Windu only after Guattako had been killed by one of the children. Before the Clone Wars began, Fisto accepted Nahdar Vebb, a young Force-sensitive Mon Calamari, as his Padawan apprentice, providing him with training in the ways of the Force.

By 22 BBY, tensions were escalating rapidly between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Following multiple attempts on the life of senator Padmé Amidala of Naboo, Obi-Wan Kenobi was assigned to locate the individual responsible. He discovered that the perpetrator was Jango Fett, a bounty hunter, and followed him to Geonosis. There, Kenobi uncovered the Separatists' development of a droid army and relayed his findings to the Jedi Temple before being captured. Mace Windu then decided to assemble a Jedi assault team, consisting of 200 Jedi, to neutralize the Separatist droid army and rescue Obi-Wan.
As part of the Jedi assault team, Fisto was among those dispatched to Geonosis. Upon arrival, Fisto and the Jedi infiltrated the arena, remaining concealed until the opportune time. After Windu revealed himself to Count Dooku, the Separatist leader, the Separatists deployed their droid army, prompting the Jedi to reveal themselves. Confronted by thousands of droids, Fisto and the other Jedi ignited their lightsabers and charged into battle, systematically cutting down the droids. During the battle, Fisto encountered a malfunctioning droid with the head of C-3PO, Amidala's protocol droid, which fired at him while apologizing. Deflecting the shots, Fisto used a Force push to knock the mismatched droid over. When its final shot struck a Super Battle Droid and immobilized it, Fisto smiled before rejoining the fight.

As the battle intensified, with the Separatists gaining the advantage and killing most of the 200 Jedi initially sent to rescue Kenobi, Skywalker, and Amidala, the remaining Jedi, including Fisto, found themselves surrounded by battle droids. Before they could be executed, they were rescued by the Republic's newly formed clone army, led by Yoda aboard gunships. Fisto survived the skirmish in the arena, escaping on a gunship with Mace Windu and Ki-Adi-Mundi.
Fisto continued fighting outside the arena, commanding a special unit of clone troopers against the remaining droids. Leading his soldiers into battle either on foot or in a TX-130 Saber-class fighter tank, the Nautolan Jedi survived the battle. Due to the Clone Wars, Fisto and Vebb had to separate; Vebb finished his training and passed the Jedi Trials to become a Jedi Knight, while Fisto served in the conflict. Fisto joined the Jedi Council and became a Jedi General, commanding a clone unit and a fleet.

Shortly after joining the Council, Fisto was assigned to Master Windu's squad and participated in a mission to Hissrich. After landing, Fisto and the squad attacked a droid patrol. Following the patrol's defeat, Fisto and the others contacted the natives and went to their cave. Fisto spoke with Master Prosset Dibs about the Separatists' presence on Hissrich. Windu and the squad then observed the Separatists drilling into the caverns from above.
Fisto and the squad fought Destroyer droids and battle droids on STAPs. Fisto used the Force to throw rocks at and disable one of the STAPs. He saved Windu from falling to his death at the hands of the Separatist commander, AD-W4. After the squad split up, Fisto and Dibs attempted to protect the natives from the battle droids, but the cavern collapsed. Fisto and Dibs survived, and Dibs insisted on tending to the wounded natives. Fisto assured him that the natives had survived and found refuge.
Fisto and Dibs were then attacked by a Milodon. After killing it, they discovered several dead natives. Masters Windu and Rissa Mano rejoined Fisto and Dibs, and Dibs accused Windu of "lying" to them. Fisto and Mano watched as Windu and Dibbs fought. Fisto and Mano discussed how Windu and Dibbs should not be fighting. Windu subdued Dibs after their duel. With the duel over, Fisto and Mano accompanied Windu to infiltrate the droid base. Fisto made a loud entrance and was confronted by many B1-series battle droids.
Fisto fought the droids while Windu and Mano infiltrated deeper into the base. Fisto was surrounded but was rescued by Mano, and together they defeated the remaining battle droids. Following their victory over the Separatists, Fisto and the others returned to Coruscant, where Fisto meditated. Later, Fisto was involved in a Separatist shootout with his Jedi friend Plo Koon.

After Viceroy Nute Gunray's escape from the Tranquility, Kit Fisto was contacted by Luminara Unduli and Ahsoka Tano, the two Jedi escorts who had been accompanying Gunray, as his fleet was near Gunray's location. They tasked him with tracking down Gunray's stolen ship and bringing him to justice after the attempted kidnapping of Senator Padmé Amidala on Rodia. Kit Fisto tracked the ship to the Vassek system. Upon arriving, he informed the two female Jedi of his progress, and they told him that his former Padawan, Nahdar Vebb, had already tracked the ship and landed on Vassek's third moon. After landing, Fisto reunited with Vebb, congratulating him on his promotion to Jedi Knight and expressing his regret for missing his trials. Fisto, Vebb, and several clone troopers then followed the tracking beacon to the entrance of a large, sealed fortress. Vebb suggested cutting open the door, while Clone Commander Fil suggested blowing it up. Master Fisto simply pressed a specific part of the door, opening it and allowing them to enter, remarking that a second look often pays off.

As the group explored the fortress's dimly lit corridors, Kit Fisto sensed something. They soon found a hall where they saw and heard what they believed to be Gunray giving orders to his battle droids. The two Jedi entered and easily defeated the droids. Thinking they had captured the Viceroy, Nahdar Vebb used the Force to turn his chair around, only to find a hologram of Gunray. Gunray declared them fools and welcomed them to their doom. A hologram of Count Dooku then appeared, apologizing for the deception and offering them an alternative prize before disappearing, leaving the Jedi puzzled. The group continued through the corridors, trying to understand why they had been lured there. Fisto noticed statues depicting the same warrior in various stages of cybernetic augmentation, growing increasingly uneasy until they found a room with multiple copies of a familiar mask, realizing they were in the lair of General Grievous. Fisto was confused as to why Dooku would lure them there as a trap for his own ally. While discussing this with Nahdar, examining Grievous's collection of items from murdered Jedi, they received a transmission about an incoming ship matching Grievous's. Master Fisto, Vebb, and Fil debated their next move. Vebb believed that killing Grievous could change the course of the war, but Fisto warned against underestimating the cyborg warrior.
As Grievous entered his lair, the Jedi and clones ambushed him. Fisto welcomed him home and asked him to surrender for leniency from the senate. Grievous responded that Fisto would be the one begging for mercy, igniting his four lightsabers. They briefly dueled, while the clone troopers used cables to trip him. Fisto severed Grievous's legs, leaving him to crawl and climb with his arms. Grievous killed several clone troopers before escaping to his control room. Vebb angrily claimed he could have finished him off if the clones had not interfered, but Fisto suggested tending to the wounded. Vebb insisted he could take Grievous, but Kit Fisto reminded him that he was not ready. The group tried to leave the castle, but they were locked in. Grievous ordered his MagnaGuards to destroy their shuttle outside. Before they could destroy Fisto's starfighter, his astromech droid, R6-H5, piloted it away, narrowly escaping.

Grievous appeared on a hologram and taunted the group. Fisto challenged him to come out of hiding, but Grievous said they should experience his home's offerings while they waited. As his hologram disappeared, the floor beneath them vanished. Fisto and Vebb jumped back to safety, but one clone trooper fell to his death. Clone Commander Fil used his cable to be pulled back up by the Jedi. Shortly after, Grievous deployed his pet roggwart Gor to kill them. After Fil shot at the beast, Gor grabbed him and repeatedly slammed him against the ground with its tail, killing him. Master Fisto then chopped off Gor's front limbs, and Vebb stabbed it in the back. The Nautolan Jedi then stabbed the beast in the neck, killing it. Fueled by anger after Fil's death, Vebb vowed revenge on Grievous. Fisto reminded him that it was not the Jedi way and that he must remember his teachings.

The duo eventually saw Grievous leaving his control room and watched him enter a sequence to lock the security door. After Grievous left, Fisto went to re-enter the sequence, but they heard his medical droid alert him that they were trying to enter. The door opened, and Fisto walked in, but Nahdar protested that they should try to finish off Grievous instead. The medical droid then shut the door, separating them. With no other options, Fisto went to the control room and killed the medical droid. Through the security cameras, he watched Grievous kill his old Padawan. With the chance of killing Grievous gone, Fisto instructed R6 to meet him at the castle's landing platform so he could leave. Just as he was about to board his starfighter, Grievous appeared, and they engaged in a lightsaber duel. Fisto was determined to end Grievous's evil. During their duel, Fisto deactivated his lightsaber and snuck up on Grievous, using the dense fog around the castle to his advantage. Fisto attacked from behind, catching Grievous off guard but Grievous blocked his attack with his four lightsabers. The two continued their duel, and Fisto severed one of Grievous's hands and reclaimed Vebb's lightsaber in honor of his fallen comrade. He then used the Force to push Grievous over but was met by several MagnaGuards. Fisto fought them briefly but was outnumbered. Grievous, acknowledging Fisto as a worthy opponent, promised him a quick death if he surrendered, to which Fisto complied. R6 flew the starfighter directly behind Fisto, who smiled before leaping onto the ship and flying away, now knowing the location of Grievous's hideout.
Upon returning to Coruscant, Fisto reported the events to Jedi council members Yoda and Mace Windu. When asked about Nahdar, Fisto said that his former apprentice had tried to answer Grievous's power with his own. Yoda said that it was not the Jedi way to answer power with power and that the war could make the Jedi forget who they were. The Republic now knew Grievous's castle's location, forcing Grievous to abandon it.
After a mission on Felucia, where Padawan Ahsoka Tano repeatedly disobeyed orders from her master Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, she was assigned to guard the Jedi Archives under Jocasta Nu as punishment. After arriving and meeting the librarian Jedi, she began lecturing Ahsoka on the Jedi Archives. They reached the Holocron Vault, where they saw Fisto about to enter. Jocasta Nu greeted him, and he smiled before using the Force to unlock the door and enter. Tano asked if they could go inside, but Nu said that only members of the High Jedi Council, such as Master Fisto, had access.

On the same day, Cad Bane and the shapeshifting Cato Parasitti were tasked with stealing a holocron from the vault. After breaking into the Jedi Archives, with Parasitti impersonating Jocastu Nu while Bane tried to unlock an entrance to the Holocron Vault, he sent his droid, Todo 360, to the Communications center of the Jedi Temple. The droid crawled through the ventilation shaft until it reached an access hatch, where it revealed itself to Kit Fisto, Aayla Secura, Mace Windu, and Yoda. The Jedi were stunned until they realized that the droid had a bomb. Windu quickly used the Force to push the droid back into the access hatch, where it exploded.

Shortly after the Second Battle of Geonosis, Mace Windu's forces found themselves in dire need of medical assistance on Dantooine after an enemy assault. Instead of a Coruscant return trip, Ahsoka Tano and Barriss Offee, the two Padawan learners, were dispatched to the Ord Cestus medical station, where Kit Fisto was stationed, to procure the necessary supplies. The clone unit accompanying them, Tango Company, contracted Geonosian brain worms following their time on Geonosis. These worms warped the clones' minds, turning them hostile towards anyone uninfected, which allowed them to seize total control of their ship.
Tano and Offee were then compelled to conceal themselves, finding temporary safety in the ventilation system located at the ship's highest point. Tano reached out to Master Fisto, updating him on their predicament. She voiced her reluctance to dock at the medical station while the brain worms remained onboard, fearing potential contamination. Fisto, in a stern manner, insisted on bringing the ship in, emphasizing the need to contain and study the worms. He assured her that precautions would be implemented. Despite a lingering unease, the Togruta agreed to comply. Shortly after her conversation with Master Fisto, Barriss Offee was ambushed by the clones, leading to her infection by the parasites. Upon discovering this, Anakin Skywalker interrogated Poggle the Lesser, their Geonosian prisoner, seeking a method to eliminate the worms. He learned that the worms were extremely vulnerable to cold temperatures. Consequently, Ahsoka breached the ship's coolant system, causing a rapid temperature drop.

The ship eventually exited hyperspace and arrived at the medical station. Fisto swiftly deployed tugs to assist in guiding the ship for docking. He instructed the clones to caution the hazard crew against boarding until the worms were secured. He also instructed them to activate the alarms, and to prepare the sub-zero conduits. After a difficult process of slowing the ship, it finally docked at the medical station. Once the temperature reached freezing, Fisto led a team to board the ship. Upon entering the control room, he discovered a shivering Tano, embracing an apparently uninfected Offee. Barely able to speak, she informed Fisto that they were there to collect the supplies before losing consciousness, to which he commended her efforts and advised her to rest.
Later, Ahsoka regained consciousness in a medical bay on the station. She immediately questioned Anakin, who was present, about the nature of the worms, at which point Fisto entered, claiming that he could provide an answer. He clarified that the parasites were the same encountered on Geonosis, after they had been analyzed. With a smile, Fisto remarked on her ordeal before excusing himself to allow Ahsoka and her master to converse privately.
Fisto later participated via hologram at the Jedi Temple when Jedi Master Eeth Koth was captured, and supported the idea of a rescue mission to be undertaken by Anakin Skywalker and fellow Council members Obi-Wan Kenobi and Adi Gallia.
Shortly after, Fisto was reinforced by Skywalker and his Clone Captain, Rex, in preparation for battle.
The following year saw Anakin Skywalker, Kenobi, Ahsoka Tano, and various clones sent on a mission to rescue Jedi Master Even Piell and Captain Wilhuff Tarkin from the Separatist prison known as the Citadel on Lola Sayu. During their escape, their ship was destroyed in a skirmish, which was the only way they were able to get off of the planet, leaving them trapped on the planet. After contacting the Jedi Council about their situation, a meeting was called. Plo Koon and Adi Gallia were present, while Saesee Tiin and Kit Fisto attended through holograms. Koon assigned Tiin as the leader of the fighter attack, with Gallia and Fisto accompanying him, and debriefed them that it was their job to punch through the defenses, so that he might lead the gunships to the surface and extract the team.

As the team on the surface moved closer to the designated rendezvous point, the Republic fleet emerged from hyperspace within the Lola Sayu system. The Battle then began, but the three Jedi initially struggled against the overwhelming number of droid fighters. Under immense pressure from Master Plo Koon, Tiin called for Fisto and Gallia to form up, and managed to break through enemy lines. The trio then led Plo's gunship to the surface, where they picked up the surviving rescue team, and then accompanied it back into space. They then cleared the way to the Jedi cruiser, destroying many droid fighters before eventually docking. The cruiser then jumped into hyperspace, en route to Coruscant.
After arriving on Coruscant the group met with Yoda and Windu, and conversed on the events that had transpired on the Citadel and during the battle.
Later during the Clone Wars, Mon Cala, a previously peaceful underwater world, teetered on the brink of civil conflict between the Mon Calamari and the Quarren, two species who had formerly coexisted harmoniously. Following the mysterious assassination of Mon Cala's king, Yos Kolina, his inexperienced son, Lee-Char, was left to unite his people. Seeking to avert civil war, the Republic dispatched Senator Padmé Amidala and Anakin Skywalker, a Jedi escort, to mediate. After a debate reached a standstill, the Quarren, led by the Separatist Karkarodon Commander Riff Tamson, refused to support Lee-Char's coronation as the new Mon Cala king, leading Skywalker, Amidala, and the Mon Calamari captain Gial Ackbar to come to the conclusion that a civil war was inevitable. The trio then contacted Windu and Yoda, who thought it best to deploy Master Fisto, as well as Padawan Tano with a battalion of Clone SCUBA troopers under Commander Monnk. Windu then informed Ackbar that he should assemble the Mon Cala troops and prepare for an attack from the Quarren.
As predicted, the Quarren launched an attack on the Mon Calamari shortly after, with the full support of the Separatist droid army. Fortunately, Republic reinforcements arrived in time, with Master Fisto, Ahsoka Tano, and their clone battalion diving into the oceanic planet from Republic gunships. Being a Nautolan from the aquatic planet of Glee Anselm, Fisto navigated the deep sea effortlessly, eliminating numerous battle droids and hostile Quarren. He then met up with Skywalker and Ackbar, and used electrobinoculars to watch the enemy return to their ships. He remarked that it had seemed that they had won this round of the battle, to which Ackbar responded that they were lucky to have survived. Fisto then reported that the droids were taking position in the coral, and it looked that they were amassing for another assault.

Ahsoka Tano and Lee-Char who had been separated from the group previously then met up with the main group, but almost immediately afterwards they found themselves surrounded by Hydroid Medusas which were gigantic cyborg jellyfish with electrified tentacles which meant they were immune to the Mon Calamari's close quarters weapons. Fisto then commanded all troops to their battle stations, to which Ackbar added that they should not fire until Lee-Char gave the command. The group waited in silence until the prince finally gave the orders, to which the clones and the Mon Calamari began concentrating their fire on the robotic menace. As they fought off the jellyfish, Separatist droids came in from behind, and so their forces were left fighting on both sides. Thinking of the safety of the prince, Captain Ackbar decided it was best for them to retreat to the caves, and so the Mon Calamari forces with Skywalker and Tano retreated, while Fisto fought off the remaining cyborgs. Fisto then drove his mini sub into one of them, causing it to explode to which he grinned with a great sense of achievement. The Nautolan Jedi then followed in suit with the rest of the Republic forces that were heading towards the cave.
Shortly after regrouping with the other Republic forces, Fisto contacted Windu and Yoda to inform them of the dire circumstances they were in. He explained how they had lost contact with all other remaining clone and Mon Cala forces, of how the Quarren had ambushed them. Yoda then mentioned clone reinforcements, but the transmission began to break up before he was able to say anything else. Despite Fisto's best efforts to regain communication, it was no use, with the hologram crackling away. With no idea whether reinforcements were to be sent or not, the group decided they should travel to the surface, and attempt to escape the planet that way. Before they were able to get there however, they were faced with the problem of getting there undetected by the enemy. In order to get past them, Kit Fisto offered to create a diversion to which the rest of the group agreed. He swam upwards towards three Quarren who were taking two clone troopers as prisoners, and surprised them from behind. The Nautolan grabbed one from behind, and in the confusion was able to force push another away. He was then able to snatch their mini-sub, and then, through use of the force, pushed it down towards his friends. He then freed the clone troopers, and ignited his lightsaber, ready to fight off any incoming enemies.
As Fisto continued fighting attacking Quarren, he looked up to see debris of the ship they had planned to use for escape sinking to the bottom of the ocean. He swam over to Anakin and humorously commented that he was back so soon, to which Anakin explained that they had run into a few problems. Fisto then remarked that he could quite obviously see that all around them, referring to the submerging debris of the ship. The survivors then split up, with Fisto, Tano, Lee-Char, and the remaining clones going together in one group, while Skywalker, Ackbar, and Amidala went together in another. Fisto's group eventually reached a cave, in which they took refuge in. Fisto noted that he did not think they had been followed and so asked his clone commander, Monnk, to post a lookout. In total despair, Lee-Char pondered on what their options would be on what to do. Tano replied that they simply had to stay in the cave, as there was nothing else they could do. Commander Monnk then signaled Fisto; and upon swimming over, the Nautolan Jedi witnessed the Separatist's enslavement of the Mon Calamari people. Fisto warned Lee-Char that this could be the future of his world, should they not be able to do anything.
Later, while Fisto was on the lookout, with Monnk, Tano, and Lee-Char conversed on the matter of bringing hope to his people. The Mon Calamari prince doubted this was possible, since his subjects believed that he had perished. Lee-Char sneaked away, whilst Tano and Fisto were not looking, and blew his shell horn to get the attention of his people, so that they could see he was alive. Upon releasing, Fisto and Tano speedily swam over, to warn him that the guards would hear him. Before Tano could finish her warning, a Separatist AQ-series battle droid began propelling blaster fire towards the prince. As Fisto fought it off, they looked upwards to see hundreds of Gungan warriors swimming towards them. Knowing that they had been sent by the Jedi Council, Kit Fisto rejoiced, and exclaimed that the tide of the battle had changed. Lee-Char then called for the group to attack, and so they joined with the Gungans. Together, Fisto, Tano, and Lee-Char fought off the droid forces with relative ease, until Riff Tamson deployed the Separatist reinforcements.

Within moments, several trident assault ships entered the battle, which began to spin around, creating whirlpools. Kit Fisto, Ahsoka Tano, and Lee-Char were all suddenly sucked into it, and during the confusion, Riff Tamson seized the opportunity to attack the prince. Tano fended the Karkarodon off for a short while, before Fisto was able to find them. With great force, Fisto immediately knocked him away, before the two briefly wrestled. Tamson knocked Kit Fisto's lightsaber away from him, and so the two began to engage in hand to hand combat; throwing heavy punches both ways. Fisto then shouted to Tano, and told her to escape with Lee-Char, while he continued to fight off Tamson. As Tano and Lee-Char swam away, they watched as Kit Fisto was completely outnumbered by Riff Tamson and his droids and witnessed their friend's capture.
Unbeknownst to the Republic forces on Mon Cala, the Jedi High Council had enlisted the help of the Gungan Grand Army, allowing for much needed reinforcements on the Republic side. However, they were once again ambushed by Tamson, who confronted the young prince Lee-Char. Fisto engaged in melee combat with the Karkarodon, allowing Tano and the prince to escape. Fisto was ultimately subdued by the Tamson and imprisoned along with Amidala, Skywalker, and Jar Jar Binks. Brought before Tamson himself, the three prisoners were subjected to electric eel torture and shackle droids; Fisto was remarkably blasé about it, merely stating that the eels were very dangerous. After Tamson savagely damaged Amidala's helmet with his jaws, Fisto and Skywalker saved her by creating a force bubble around her head, thus allowing her to breathe. Skywalker, to his chagrin, kept getting shocked even when he thought he had got the hang of the cages in contrast to Fisto, who advised him that "Less talking helps." They were then brought to watch Lee-Char's execution, and Fisto witnessed the young prince being saved at the last moment by Nossor Ri. The Nautolan Jedi participated in the final battle of newly rekindled Mon Calamari and Quarren forces against Tamson and the Separatists. After the Republic victory, he witnessed Prince Lee-Char's coronation as the new King of Mon Cala.
As the conflict persisted without a clear resolution, Jedi Master Fisto increased his involvement within the Jedi Council. Around 20 BBY, with security concerns at their peak regarding Chancellor Palpatine's safety during his appearance at the annual Festival of Light on Naboo, Fisto, alongside other Jedi, attended a Jedi Temple meeting to strategize against potential assassination attempts. Later, Fisto was present during a Jedi Council meeting where they received a communication from Saw Gerrera and his sister Steela Gerrera, Onderonian freedom fighters. The pair sought Jedi assistance in their struggle against Separatist control. The Council eventually decided to secretly dispatch Skywalker and Tano to train the resistance group without direct intervention.

In 19 BBY, Fisto was present at the Jedi Temple at the same time as the bombing that occurred at the Temple's hangar. The Nautolan Jedi attended a Jedi High Council meeting in which they assigned Skywalker and Tano to personally investigate the assault as they felt they were the most trustworthy as they were out on a mission when it happened. Fisto remained with the Council, and was there to see the two Jedi report on their progress, to which they proclaimed that they had a lead. Fisto attended the funeral for the Jedi that had fallen in the bombing, and mourned the loss of them with the other Jedi assembled.
Shortly afterwards, Admiral Tarkin contacted the Jedi Council to inform them of Tano's alleged act of murder. Kit Fisto was present through the use of a hologram and exchanged a shocked look with Shaak Ti in response to Tarkin's accusations of sedition. After eventually being captured, Tano was brought back to the Jedi Temple to be punished for treason. Kit Fisto was seated on the Council when they were again contacted by Tarkin, who requested, on behalf of the Senate, that they hand Tano over to the Republic Military to be given a military tribunal, as he thought a Jedi trial would seem biased. The Council did follow these demands, albeit reluctantly and not unanimously, and Tano was expelled. Along with the rest of the Council, Master Fisto was in attendance of the military trial, and watched as it was eventually revealed that Tano was in fact not behind the bombing, and that it was her friend and fellow Padawan Barriss Offee. Afterwards, the Council attempted to bring Tano back into the Order, but she refused.

The following year, in 19 BBY, after clone trooper Tup executed Jedi Knight Tiplar in the middle of battle, without knowingly doing so, he was taken to Kamino to be tested upon. Kit Fisto was seated on the council at the time that Jedi Master Shaak Ti contacted them, informing them that the Kaminoans wished to terminate him, and perform a vigorous molecular autopsy to discover the cause. She expressed that she did not think it was necessary, and believed that Tup had been brainwashed by the Separatists. Instead, she proposed they carry out a level 5 atomic brain scan. The council instructed her to bring the clone back to the Jedi Temple. Some time later, Chancellor Palpatine contacted the Jedi Council to inform them that the Queen of Bardotta had requested for Senator Jar Jar Binks to come to her planet's aid after several of the ancient mystics had disappeared. Kit Fisto was present on the council at the time. Thinking it unwise to let Binks go alone, the Council decided that Mace Windu also be sent to accompany him. Later, Master Plo Koon was dispatched to investigate a distress call coming from the ship of the long dead Jedi Master, Sifo-Dyas. Upon finishing his investigation, he contacted the Jedi Council to which Kit Fisto was seated on at the time. Plo Koon showed the Jedi his discovery of Sifo-Dyas' lightsaber, which led the council to start a discussion on the Jedi Master who was so shrouded in mystery.
Shortly after the Jedi Council's investigation on Sifo-Dyas, the revered Jedi Master Yoda began hearing the voice of the also long dead Jedi, Qui-Gon Jinn during meditation. The severed voice explained to the elder Jedi that he was speaking to him through the living force before swiftly disappearing. At a Jedi Council meeting, subsequently after in which Master Fisto was present, the Jedi discussed about the revelation that Count Dooku was not actually the Sith Lord they had been looking for, and was in fact merely the apprentice. During the meeting, Yoda was unusually quiet, and when asked on his opinion, Yoda had been in deep thought, and had not been listening. Confused as to what could be troubling him, the Jedi looked around and glanced at each other, with Kit Fisto turning to look at fellow Jedi Shaak Ti.

Some time later, Yoda called a Jedi Council meeting again, to inform his fellow Jedi about what had been so troubling him. Standing in the center of the Jedi Council Chamber, he questioned them if he was alone in hearing the voice of Qui-Gon Jinn, or if any of them had began hearing it too. In order to see if they were able to hear it too, all the Jedi present in the meeting, including Kit Fisto, joined Yoda in the center of the room in meditation, which they carried on doing for an entire day. Unfortunately, upon finishing, none of the Jedi could hear any kind of voice.
Confused, Grand Master Yoda then traveled to the swamp planet of Dagobah, in order to seek out the answers that he so yearned to find out. Upon arriving, he immediately made contact with the voice of Qui-Gon Jinn. The green Jedi asked him if he knew who the Sith Lord was, to which he told him of a place where all would be revealed to him. Yoda then ventured into a cave where he began receiving a vision of a dark and twisted future for the Jedi. He watched in pure horror as he saw countless of his Jedi comrades being cut down by gunfire and slain by lightsabers. Among them, he envisioned Kit Fisto's death at the hands of the malevolent Darth Sidious, with him being stabbed through the chest.
Later that year, Kit Fisto was present at a Council meeting that viewed a live holographic recording of the devastating Separatist attack on Mahranee, the homeworld of the Mahran species.

Sometime after this, Fisto attended a meeting where Yoda shared his report to the Council. The report detailed a devastating weapon known as Operation: Titan, which had the potential to shift the war's momentum in the Separatists' favor. However, the information available regarding this enemy project was lacking. Obi-Wan Kenobi then brought up the fact that Anakin Skywalker's forces had recently seized a Separatist frigate, suggesting they analyze the ship's data banks thoroughly. Yoda concurred and decided to join Skywalker in person. Following the clues, Yoda and Skywalker discovered that Operation: Titan involved the creation of a new droid army comprised of "megadroids." Later, Fisto was present when the pair informed the Council that the megadroids were being manufactured on the planet Golatha. They also shared their plan to destroy the factory before the megadroids could be deployed, a mission they ultimately accomplished.
At one point, Fisto participated in the battle of Kamino, fighting against droid forces. Fisto, in collaboration with Chief Gwark and the Rishii, also commanded his military unit against the Geonosians who sought to exploit Rishi's exonium deposits.
As the Clone Wars neared their end, the Force and the Jedi Order were increasingly influenced by the dark side. Near the war's conclusion, Kit Fisto was involved in the defense of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine against General Grievous. Grievous had launched a surprise attack on Coruscant, the Republic's capital. Despite Grievous' success in capturing the Chancellor, Jedi Knights Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi intervened, preventing the kidnapping and ensuring Palpatine's safe return. Shortly after the Battle of Coruscant, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine revealed his true identity as a Sith Lord to Anakin Skywalker. This revelation led the young knight to inform Master Mace Windu after they received news of General Grievous' dying. Windu, intending to imprison and judge the newly exposed Sith Lord for his wrongdoings, proceeded to the Chancellor's office to apprehend him. He was accompanied by Masters Fisto, Agen Kolar, and Saesee Tiin.

Confronting Palpatine in his office, the four Jedi activated their lightsabers. Windu demanded that the Chancellor surrender for detainment. Palpatine then launched a surprise attack, igniting his own crimson saber and swiftly eliminating Kolar and Tiin, catching Fisto and Windu off guard. The Nautolan Jedi managed to resist the Sith for a few seconds before being killed by a strike to the abdomen, as Master Yoda had foreseen. Due to Skywalker's betrayal, Windu later became Palpatine's fourth victim, falling to his death through the window after being tortured with Force lightning.
While on the holy moon of Jedha in 9 BBY, Jedi survivor Cal Kestis noticed a fallen statue of a Nautolan holding a lightsaber, which reminded him of Fisto.
Fisto's lightsaber was among those that former Jedi Padawan Kanan Jarrus saw in the Jedi Temple's dojo during a vision on his second visit to the Jedi Temple on Lothal.
In his book The Secrets of the Jedi, Jedi Master Luke Skywalker documented all of his knowledge regarding Kit Fisto.

Kit Fisto, a Nautolan male, possessed green skin, large black eyes, and a collection of flexible tentacle-tresses extending from his head. He stood at a height of 1.96 meters. As a Jedi Master, he exhibited intense focus, particularly during combat. Unlike some of his more serious colleagues, he was known for being laid-back and enjoying a good laugh. Fisto's humor and calm, relaxed demeanor persisted even in the midst of battle. For example, upon encountering a battle droid with the head of a protocol droid that alternated between apologizing and attempting to shoot him, Fisto simply knocked the droid to the ground and grinned before resuming the fight.
Despite the Sith's perception that Fisto might be deranged, he was also intelligent, observant, and analytical. He demonstrated this by discerning and activating a hidden mechanism to effortlessly open the door to Grievous' castle, while his companions resorted to explosive or cutting methods. He also noted that a second look was usually rewarding. Furthermore, he was studious, utilizing the holocrons accessible to a Jedi of his rank.

Fisto insisted on docking with the brain worm-infested ship TB-73 to analyze the parasites. However, he also took precautions by ordering hazard teams and cautious approaches, in case the parasites remained dangerous after being deep-frozen. As a Jedi Master, Fisto emphasized caution to his apprentice, Nahdar Vebb, and hoped to maintain their bond even after Nahdar became a Jedi Knight. Unfortunately, Fisto was unable to protect his impulsive former apprentice from Grievous, who killed him on Vassek 3. His astromech droid, R6-H5, was often anxious, which sometimes annoyed Fisto, although he generally found his droid's behavior amusing.

Kit Fisto was considered by fellow Jedi Master Mace Windu to be among the most skilled lightsaber duelists in the Jedi Order. His abilities were evident in his fight against the infamous Jedi hunter General Grievous, against whom Fisto performed admirably. Had the fight been fair, without the interference of Grievous' MagnaGuards, Fisto might have prevailed and defeated the cyborg. Fisto primarily used Form I in combat but was also proficient in Form IV. His mastery of Form I, Shii-Cho, allowed him to easily fend off numerous opponents, which enabled him to survive the First Battle of Geonosis, where many of his colleagues perished, as well as the Clone Wars. His reputation as a master swordsman led Windu to choose him as one of the four Jedi Masters to apprehend the Sith Lord Darth Sidious. Although he was defeated relatively quickly, only Windu lasted longer, with Fisto managing to block several of Sidious' attacks before falling.
Master Fisto was skilled in using the Force physically. For example, he could create and control water currents using the Force for both offense and defense. Fisto was an excellent swimmer and adapted his Jedi skills to utilize his amphibious nature, making him a formidable opponent both underwater and on land. Additionally, he was skilled in hand-to-hand combat, holding his own against Riff Tamson in an underwater fight, though he was ultimately unable to defeat him. Beyond his combat skills, he was also an expert pilot. As a Nautolan, Fisto possessed heightened senses and sensitivity to pheromones.
Kit Fisto was introduced in the 2002 film Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones, portrayed by Zachariah Jensen and ILMer Daniel Zizmor. For 2005's Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, the role was passed to stuntman Ben Cooke because Jensen was unavailable due to his involvement in the TV show Survivor.

In Attack of the Clones, Fisto's eyes appear smaller than usual, which later became a running joke.
In the Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV series, Kit Fisto was voiced by Phil LaMarr. LaMarr gave the character a Jamaican accent, basing his voice on the 7 Up television commercial mascot Fido Dido.
Initially, Fisto was conceived as a new Sith Lord. One design featured a white-skinned alien male with dreadlocks wielding a curved lightsaber. The artist, Dermot Power, was never fully satisfied with the design, and the Sith Lord concept was eventually altered to a bald-headed female. This design was abandoned after Christopher Lee was cast as Count Dooku, but it was later repurposed as the character design for Asajj Ventress. George Lucas then requested Power to transform the original dreadlocked concept into a Jedi, softening the face and changing the skin color to green. After adding a Jedi tunic, the design of Kit Fisto was finalized.
In the early draft of Revenge of the Sith from January 2003, Fisto was intended to be killed alongside Stass Allie on Saleucami during Order 66. By April 2003, in the film's first draft, Fisto's death remained the same, but Adi Gallia and Barriss Offee accompanied him. By the second draft in June 2003, Lucas decided that Fisto would join Windu in arresting Palpatine, portraying them as "gunslingers out of the Old West," a concept that remained in the final version. Among other ideas, the concept artist proposed a new look for Fisto, featuring a tattered tunic and a scar.
