Stass Allie

Stass Allie was a Jedi Master active in the Galactic Republic's final years. Being a female Tholothian who possessed sensitivity to the Force, she also held the distinction of being the cousin of Adi Gallia, a member of the Jedi High Council and fellow Jedi Master. As a Jedi General within the Grand Army of the Republic, Allie later secured a position on the High Council of the Jedi Order towards the end of the Clone Wars, following Gallia's passing.

Her tenure on the Council was cut short by her death on the planet Saleucami as the Clone Wars drew to a close. Clone Marshal Commander Neyo, along with a clone trooper lieutenant, carried out Order 66 at the behest of the Sith Lord Darth Sidious. They opened fire on their general from their speeder bikes, resulting in her immediate death, during the last hours of the conflict.

Biography

Early life

Master Adi Gallia, a cousin of Stass Allie

Before the Separatist Crisis, Stass Allie's birth occurred on Tholoth. She was related to Jedi Master Adi Gallia as her cousin. Gallia herself came from a prominent diplomatic family residing on Coruscant. Allie's Force-sensitive nature was discovered, leading to her enrollment in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant to begin her training as a Jedi. She specialized in the art of healing, a skill that would prove invaluable during the prolonged and brutal Clone Wars. Like her cousin, Allie also excelled as a consular and a rising diplomatic figure. She eventually achieved the rank of Jedi Master, joining the Circle of Jedi Healers and serving as an overseer within the Medical Corps.

Allie was present in Supreme Chancellor Palpatine's office alongside other senators and Jedi when the question of granting Palpatine emergency powers was being discussed.

Battle of Geonosis

Stass Allie was part of the Jedi assault team on Geonosis.

Upon the Jedi Council's learning of the capture and sentencing to death of Senator Padmé Amidala and Jedi Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi by the leaders of the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the Geonosians, Stass Allie was chosen to be a part of Mace Windu's Jedi strike team dispatched to rescue them. Within the Petranaki Arena, she and her fellow Jedi fought bravely against the Separatist Droid Army. While most of the Jedi perished in the battle, Allie and others survived long enough to be rescued by the newly arrived clone army. The clones then escorted some of the remaining Jedi off-world, while others were transported via Republic gunships to strategic locations to lead the clones in the broader conflict. She and Bultar Swan, having fought side by side, boarded the same gunship and were taken to the desert plains where the battle had spread. After exchanging a nod, both charged forward to continue their fight against the Separatist Droid Army.

Jedi High Council

Throughout the Clone Wars, Allie continued to refine both her healing abilities and her diplomatic skills, which were tested by the looming Separatist threat, even while serving as a Jedi General.

In 19 BBY, following Adi Gallia's death at the hands of Savage Opress during a fierce engagement, Stass Allie was offered her cousin's seat on the Jedi High Council. Allie accepted the invitation and took on Gallia's former responsibilities. Due to her new duties, Allie frequently participated in Council meetings on Coruscant via hologram from various Republic-assigned worlds.

Allie and the Jedi Council discussed Yoda's report on Operation: Titan.

Later that year, Allie attended a meeting where the Council received Yoda's report concerning Operation: Titan, a devastating weapon that could shift the war's tide in favor of the Confederacy. However, the available information about the enemy project was limited. Obi-Wan Kenobi suggested examining the databanks of a recently captured Separatist frigate by Anakin Skywalker's forces. Yoda concurred and decided to join Skywalker. Their investigation revealed that Operation: Titan involved the construction of a new droid army composed of "megadroids." Allie was later present via holocomm when the two reported to the Council that the megadroids were being constructed on the planet Golatha and that they planned to destroy the factory before the megadroids could be deployed. They successfully completed this mission.

After some time, Allie was present during the controversial session when Anakin Skywalker was granted a seat as the Supreme Chancellor's representative but denied the rank of Master. She was later seen in the hologram meetings when Yoda was dispatched to Kashyyyk and Obi-Wan Kenobi to Utapau.

Order 66

As the leader of the 91st Mobile Reconnaissance Corps, Allie participated in the besieging of Saleucami during the Outer Rim Sieges. During this time, Kenobi killed Grievous on Utapau, Yoda led the defense of Kashyyyk, and Anakin betrayed the Jedi, falling to the dark side, triggering Order 66, and initiating the Jedi Purge. Allie was accompanied by the 91st Mobile Reconnaissance Corps, led by clone commander Neyo. Unbeknownst to Allie and the other Jedi, the clones were created with inhibitor chips that compelled them to execute Order 66, the extermination of all Jedi throughout the galaxy.

Stass Allie was killed by her clone troopers at the end of the Clone Wars.

As the Order was transmitted via comlinks from Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, Allie, along with Neyo and a clone lieutenant, patrolled the desolate landscape of the war-torn planet on BARC speeders during a mop-up operation. She was caught completely off guard when Neyo and his wingman retreated and opened fire on her speeder without warning. She died as the speeder exploded.

Personality and traits

Stass Allie was known as a stern, focused, and youthful-looking woman with a strong desire to help others. She had indigo eyes and dark skin, contrasted by green markings around her eyes, hands, and forehead. As a Tholothian, Allie possessed a scaled cranium with fleshy white tendrils hanging from her head.

Powers and abilities

Stass Allie was a skilled lightsaber combatant, having trained to knighthood. Her swordsmanship was tested during the opening battle of the Clone Wars on Geonosis, where she and 28 others survived out of the initial 211 members of the strike team. While her sword skills were notable, her talent for Force healing was even more impressive. She passed this skill on to other Jedi, including Barriss Offee. Like her cousin, Stass Allie received extensive training in diplomacy and advisory skills. When the Clone Wars required Jedi to serve as generals, she discovered her aptitude as a skilled warrior.

Equipment

Stass Allie wielded a green-bladed lightsaber during the Battle of Geonosis. She also wore tall tan travel boots, a utility belt, a white undershirt with white pants, a grey tunic, and dark robes. Her head was adorned with a Tholoth headdress consisting of a brown fabric rim framing her face, interwoven with thin, interlocking chains that adorned her scaled cranium.

Behind the scenes

The creation of Stass Allie's character is, in many ways, a retcon that occurred before the release of any Attack of the Clones merchandise. The filmmaker aimed to include most of the Jedi High Council members in the film's climactic Battle of Geonosis. However, because the majority of the film was shot in Australia instead of England, local model Lily Nyamwasa took the place of Gin Clarke, who played Adi Gallia in Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace. She filmed all her scenes wearing Adi Gallia's costume, but the filmmakers realized she looked too different from Clarke's portrayal of the character. As a result, they created a new character, Stass Allie.

Stass Allie is depicted incorrectly.

Following Adi Gallia's death in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Dave Filoni, the supervising director for the series, stated in January 2013 that the animation team had created a character model for Stass Allie and that she would appear in a later season. This, however, never occurred.

Revenge of the Sith portrays Anakin Skywalker as the one who delivers the line, "A partial message was intercepted in a diplomatic packet from the chairman of Utapau." However, Star Wars: The Prequel Trilogy – A Graphic Novel mistakenly depicts Allie as the speaker. The reference booklet "Yoda and Other Users of the Force" states that Allie only arrived on Saleucami after the conclusion of its battle during the Outer Rim Sieges, but other sources indicate that she participated in the Siege of Saleucami itself. Therefore, "Yoda and Other Users of the Force" must be incorrect.
