Lula Sooger, a human female, was raised as the adopted daughter of Lexo Sooger, a masseuse. Lexo discovered her as an infant within a cargo container located in an alley. Despite his efforts to locate her parents, he was unsuccessful. Consequently, the Dor Namethian chose to keep and raise her as his own child. Although initially unfamiliar with human care and harboring a disliking for humans, Lexo embraced the role of Lula's father with affection and attention, which diminished his initial aversion. By the age of thirteen, she was working as an indentured servant at the fathier stables situated on Cantonica. At some point in her life, she was abducted by the gangster Sturg Ganna.
Sturg's intention was to coerce Lexo into becoming his informant, using Lula as a bargaining chip. He led Lexo to believe he would permit visitation after a few tasks were completed, but the gangster's true plan was to enslave Lula, regardless of her adoptive father's cooperation. Lula was confined to a cell located in the subterranean depths of Ganna's personal suite, beneath the Canto Casino and Racetrack. Lexo managed to trace a trail of Corwindyl paste that Lula had intentionally left behind, thus verifying Ganna's location.
