The Luzalite diamond medallion served as a cherished family treasure, passed down to Kozmo Sundrel IV circa 396 BBY. This medallion, crafted from diamond, was sourced from the planet known as Luzalite. Although not entirely impervious to blaster fire, it could still offer protection to the wearer if directly impacted by such weaponry. During his time at Reena University around 396 BBY, Kozmo Sundrel IV frequently wore the medallion. His peer, Axel Greylark, a fellow student, considered it "ridiculous." Sundrel kept wearing the medallion even when he was taken hostage and coerced into acts of theft for the Path of the Open Hand, concealing it beneath the server's attire he was compelled to wear to safeguard it from theft. When Leyli Romero, another student and spy working for the Path, shot Sundrel, the Luzalite diamond medallion absorbed the impact, shielding him from harm. Subsequently, he mused about requesting his father to develop a blaster-resistant version of the medallion.
The Luzalite diamond medallion made its debut in "The Queen's Bloom," a brief narrative penned by Zoraida Córdova. This story was featured in the 2023 young-adult anthology The High Republic: Tales of Light and Life, which was launched as a component of the expansive Star Wars: The High Republic project encompassing multiple media formats.
