M3-A Scyk interceptor

The M3-A Scyk interceptor represented a specific interceptor class deployed during the Imperial Era. It is documented that the Galactic Empire possessed a total of four of these spacecraft. The Hutt Cartel also made use of these interceptors.

Description

Referred to by various names including M3-A Interceptor, "Scyk" fighter, and M3-A "Scyk" Interceptor, the M3-A Scyk Interceptor held the distinction of being the most lightweight vessel manufactured by MandalMotors.

Behind the scenes

The initial mention of the M3-A Scyk interceptor within current Star Wars canon occurred in an article titled "Bargains, Bribes, and Battles" on Fantasy Flight Games' official website, where it was referred to as an "M3-A Interceptor." This article served as a preview for the then-forthcoming C-ROC Cruiser Expansion Pack for the Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Game on January 9, 2017. Subsequently, it was identified as a "Scyk" fighter in "Hit and Run," another Fantasy Flight Games article previewing the C-ROC Cruiser Expansion Pack, released on March 10. Later, on March 27, a third preview article, "Jabba the Hutt," was published, identifying the starship as the M3-A "Scyk" Interceptor. The expansion was ultimately released on June 8 of that year.
