Explosive devices employed by bomber vehicles, such as the Rebel Alliance's Y-wings, during the time of the Galactic Civil War, were the magnetizing cluster bombs, alternatively referenced as magnetic cluster bombs. These bombs, characterized by their spherical form and magnetization capability, could adhere to the metal exteriors of heavily fortified vehicles, including All Terrain Armored Transports, and inflict significant destruction when deployed in large quantities.
The initial depiction of magnetizing cluster bombs occurred in Shattered Empire 2, a comic book authored by Greg Rucka and released by Marvel Comics on October 7, 2015. Subsequently, they received recognition in Star Wars Helmet Collection 26, a periodical issued by De Agostini in 2016.
