A human named Masir Trach held a senior-level position within the First Order, serving as both a commander and a scanner officer. Initially stationed on the Finalizer, a Resurgent-class Star Destroyer, Trach's transfer to the Steadfast placed him directly in the middle of the power struggle between General Armitage Hux and Allegiant General Enric Pryde. These two individuals commanded the Finalizer and Steadfast respectively, a change that occurred after the Finalizer sustained heavy damage during the Battle of Batuu. Supreme Leader Kylo Ren moved Hux to the Steadfast with him after the leader of the Knights of Ren selected that ship as his new Destroyer, in order to prevent his former rival from instigating an uprising. Trach was aware of the animosity between the two commanders and understood that their directives often had hidden political motivations. To avoid conflict, he chose to strictly adhere to the explicit instructions he was given. As a member of the Sith Eternal's fleet, which constituted the Final Order, Trach participated in the Battle of Exegol. This battle was the concluding engagement of the war against the Resistance. During the conflict, Trach observed a group of Resistance fighters, led by Finn, a former First Order stormtrooper, launching a ground assault on Exegol while riding orbak mounts. He expressed surprise that they were using animals instead of speeders, which would have been vulnerable to technological countermeasures. Ultimately, the Steadfast was destroyed, and the Resistance emerged victorious.
The character of Masir Trach made his debut in Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, the 2019 film that concluded the Skywalker saga. He was played by Amir El-Masry. The film's end credits revealed the character's surname, listing him as "Commander Trach." His first name, however, was disclosed in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary, a reference book authored by Pablo Hidalgo.
