The Metellos Trade Route represented a hyperspace route that provided passage to Coruscant. This planet was situated within the Corusca sector's Coruscant system, found in both the Interior and [Core Worlds](/article/core_worlds] regions. Functioning as the capital for both the Galactic Empire and the Galactic Republic, Coruscant also served as a pivotal connection point for the Corellian Run, the Perlemian Trade Route, the Koros Trunk Line, Stassia Alley, the Nexus Route, and the Namadii Corridor. The route derived its designation from Metellos, a planet located in the Core Worlds.
In the year 7957 according to the C.R.C., Tanivos Divo, an Inspector from the Coruscant Security Force, became aware of a surge in pirate actions occurring along this trade route. Despite his investigation, he was only able to find a small amount of supporting information. Based on this limited information, Divo issued a request across divisions for any information pertaining to Weequay raiders, which resulted in a substantial number of responses. Many of these responses made reference to Hondo Ohnaka, a Weequay pirate associated with the Ohnaka Gang. Exantor Divo, Divo's grandson, later included his grandfather's inquiry about the route in his book, entitled Scum and Villainy: Case Files on the Galaxy's Most Notorious, which was released in 34 ABY.
Within established Star Wars canon, the Metellos Trade Route received a mention in the 2018 reference publication, Star Wars: Scum and Villainy: Case Files on the Galaxy's Most Notorious, penned by Pablo Hidalgo. However, the route has its origins within the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was initially referenced in Coruscant and the Core Worlds, a 2003 supplement for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game that was published by Wizards of the Coast.
