Around the time of 3 ABY, Lando Calrissian embarked on a quest. His objective was to infiltrate the palace of Jabba the Hutt, the Hutt crime lord, situated on the planet Tatooine. Lando's goal was to rescue Lobot, his cyborg companion, by reclaiming a droid he had earlier sold to Jabba. Lobot's cybernetics were malfunctioning, placing his life in danger. Simultaneously, the recently reformed D-Squad journeyed to Jabba's Palace, seeking coordinates that might uncover the location of Ajax Sigma.
