Description

Mechis III, a minor planetoid, was a terrestrial planet found within the Inner Rim Territories. Its location, designated as L-14 on the Standard Galactic Grid, placed it along the Corellian Trade Spine, nestled between the planets Bestine IV and Yag'Dhul.

History

During the period of the Clone Wars, a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Separatist Alliance, Mechis III was under the control of the Techno Union, a corporation aligned with the Separatists. To safeguard Mechis III and other key planets from Republic forces, the Techno Union deployed a combination of surplus and experimental starships and starfighters provided by its member corporations and design firms, such as the SoroSuub Corporation, in addition to utilizing some Hardcell-class interstellar transports.

Sometime during the Galactic Civil War, fought between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance, followers of Ajax Sigma, a droid rebel destroyed by Jedi Knights during the [High Republic Era](/article/high_republic_era], transported his neural core to Mechis III. There, they reconstructed and reactivated Sigma on an operating table. In this same period, an IG-series assassin droid engaged in combat on Mechis.
