Following the Battle of Grizal, Emerick Caphtor, a Jedi Master, embarked on a quest to Vrant Tarnum. This journey was part of his investigation into the puzzling death of Master Loden Greatstorm. Stellan Gios, a member of the Jedi High Council, asked Caphtor to go to the Nihil base on Vrant Tarnum, and Caphtor went with a Galactic Republic troopers squad. As the Republic force neared, the majority of the pirates at the base ran away. Caphtor and his soldiers engaged the remaining Nihil, capturing as many as possible. While examining the ruins alongside his droid, Q-2, Caphtor located a noteworthy cave. He observed that the engravings around the cave were the lyrics of an old nursery rhyme that he had previously discovered were related to his investigation.
