Assignment Details

Context

Tionne, a Jedi historian, uncovered information about the planet of Yalara through a Jedi holocron. This planet, the home of a primitive species, was concealed by a planetary cloaking device. This device had been established years prior by Jedi Master Broden Kel Verdox. Upon discovering that others might know about Yalara, the New Jedi Order dispatched Jaden Korr with the mission to either render the cloaking device unusable for future purposes, or to completely destroy it to prevent it from falling into enemy hands. Master Luke Skywalker strongly suggested the destruction of the device.

The Execution

Jaden Korr confronts the Noghri.

Upon his arrival at the massive generator complex responsible for powering the cloaking device, Korr was unexpectedly attacked by Noghri Death Commandos, but he prevailed. As he continued his exploration, he found that both the Imperial Remnant and the Disciples of Ragnos forces were present, also battling the Noghri for control of the cloaking device. Korr determined that destroying the device was the optimal course of action. After defeating both factions, Korr ascended through the complex by utilizing the air currents generated by the ventilation fans. Reaching the top, Korr engaged in further combat with New Reborn and Noghri warriors before successfully destroying the cloaking device by detonating explosive charges.

Subsequent Events

Following his return to the Jedi Academy, Skywalker began to suspect that Darth Vader, who had previously enslaved many Noghri and used them as assassins and protectors, had instructed his Noghri Commandos to exterminate the Yalarans and safeguard the cloaking device. The surviving Noghri on Yalara were then transported back to their home planet, Honoghr.
