Nastia Unamo, a human female, held the position of chief petty officer within the First Order. Her assignment was aboard the bridge of the massive Resurgent-class Star Destroyer known as the Finalizer. This vessel served as the flagship for both Kylo Ren and General Armitage Hux during the Cold War era. Her duties included the supervision of the Star Destroyer's extensive crew, and she reported to higher-ranking members of the command structure, such as Lieutenant Dopheld Mitaka.
Unamo's attire consisted of a black lighter fabric duty uniform, paired with flawlessly maintained regulation boots and an intercomm headset. She was characterized by her fair complexion, black hair, and blue eyes.
Nastia Unamo made her debut appearance in Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, a 2015 film belonging to the sequel trilogy. Kate Fleetwood played the role, initially credited simply as "First Order Officer." Her character's last name, Unamo, was first revealed in the reference book Star Wars: The Force Awakens: The Visual Dictionary, authored by Pablo Hidalgo and released alongside the movie. Later, in the 2019 reference book Ultimate Star Wars, New Edition, Adam Bray gave the character the first name Nastia. Bray chose the name because Unamo reminded him of Russian expatriates he encountered in Vietnam, and he liked that Nastia, his favorite Russian woman's name, sounded a bit like the word "nasty."
