The purpose of this unit was to combat powerful criminal organizations such as Black Sun, aiming to provide support to the overwhelmed police forces. On one occasion, Nidaljo, his team, and a Jedi Knight found themselves participating in a raid targeting the Black Sun Headquarters.

He had achieved the rank of sergeant by the time that the Cold War was ongoing between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. In the aftermath of the Empire's Sacking of Coruscant, the regular police force was struggling with constant street battles, so a special tactical unit was created, made up of police officers and Republic soldiers. Nidaljo was placed in charge of this unit, with the explicit objective of actively engaging with dangerous gangs, specifically the Black Sun criminal organization.
Around the year 3643 BBY, classified blueprints for the Republic's Planet Prison superweapon were stolen, and its creator, Doctor Tarnis, was taken captive. Agent Galen of the Strategic Information Service dispatched Nidaljo and his team to the Black Sun territory with the mission to rescue the scientist and retrieve the stolen plans. However, while attempting to breach the Black Sun Headquarters, they were overwhelmed by Black Sun's forces, resulting in Nidaljo experiencing the loss of seven of his men, with an additional four sustaining injuries.
A Jedi Knight, also dispatched by Agent Galen, managed to inspire Nidaljo, who then motivated the remaining twenty-two members of his team to seize the Black Sun stronghold. When the Jedi, together with Nidaljo and his unit, broke through Black Sun's defenses, they discovered that Doctor Tarnis was actually a Sith Lord who had deceived Black Sun's leader, Salarr, into assisting him in stealing the plans. The Jedi and Nidaljo tried to apprehend Salarr, but he fought back and was killed. Nidaljo was aware that the CSF would be unable to maintain control over the territory they had just fought for and won. However, with his fighting spirit rekindled, he and his men established several traps to undermine any further attempts by Black Sun to secure the area.
Nidaljo, who had fair skin, dark blond hair, and dark blue eyes, was a dedicated officer and a competent commander. However, the continuous street conflicts following the Sacking of Coruscant had made him bitter and disheartened. Despite facing seemingly impossible odds, Nidaljo, with some encouragement, was able to rally himself and his men to successfully complete their mission against Black Sun.
Nidaljo is a character in Star Wars: The Old Republic, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game (MMORPG) developed by BioWare and released on December 20, 2011, specifically within the "The Rescue" quest for the Jedi Knight class. The player has the option to choose not to inspire Nidaljo and his men, which results in the acquisition of dark side points.
