Novoc Vevut

Novoc Vevut, hailing from Clan Vevut, was a male Human soldier of the Mandalorian warriors. He resided on the planet Mandalore during the Second Galactic Civil War period.

Biography

Ghes Orade was raised by Novoc Vevut, who adopted him after the tragic deaths of his parents, who were Vevut's neighbors. Despite their long acquaintance, Orade and Vevut initially struggled to connect, but their bond deepened over time. Vevut was also a proficient weaponsmith, crafting and mending weapons, even fabricating blaster components in his workshop, which was situated in the heart of Keldabe on Mandalore and served as his residence.

In 40 ABY, Vevut attended a meeting at Zerria's Bar on Drall, which included the then-Mand'alor, Boba Fett, and five other Mandalorians. He participated in a discussion with Fett regarding whether the Mandalorians should accept the offer from Corellian President Thrackan Sal-Solo to defend Centerpoint Station. When Fett brought his recently discovered granddaughter, Mirta Gev, back to Mandalore, Vevut welcomed Mirta into his home with Orade, as she and Orade had begun to develop romantic feelings for one another. Delighted by their budding relationship, Vevut playfully encouraged Mirta to marry his son, and she affectionately called him buir, meaning "papa".

Vevut later spoke with Fett outside his workshop while working on blaster parts. He offered the Mand'alor advice on improving his strained relationship with his granddaughter, reminding him that such things require patience. He also vouched for Orade's character when Fett reacted neutrally to Orade and Mirta's relationship, an assessment Fett ultimately agreed with. Fett informed Vevut about the recent nonaggression and trade agreement between Mandalore and the Verpine from the Roche system, and requested his expertise and presence in upcoming weapons discussions. Vevut later fought in the Second Battle of Fondor and enthusiastically gave Mirta his blessing to marry Ghes.

Personality and traits

Novoc Vevut was a physically imposing man who wore his black hair in thick braids, adorned with elaborate clips made from melted gold collected from his kills over the years, which jingled as he moved. His face bore numerous scars, which he jokingly attributed to shaving mishaps. Vevut was a compassionate and caring man, taking in his neighbor's orphaned son and raising him as his own, despite some initial friction. He consistently looked out for Orade's well-being, even after he matured, praising him to Boba Fett and encouraging Mirta Gev, the woman Orade loved, to become his wife.
