Nym's Stronghold, situated on the planet Lok, held the distinction of being the planet's largest city and its only spaceport. Its origins trace back to a time before the Galactic Civil War, evolving from the base utilized by Nym and his pirates during the era of the Clone Wars.
Located on the desert world of Lok within the Outer Rim Territories, Nym's Stronghold was built along the shores of the Grendin River. It bordered the cliffs where Nym had previously established his base prior to the Invasion of Naboo. Functioning as a fortress in its own right, the city was encircled by towering walls. The Lok Revenants maintained control, with Nym's guards and trained kusaks patrolling the streets.
A bridge provided a connection from the city's main section to a landing platform situated on the Grendin River's opposite bank. Serving as the single starport within the Karthakk system, Nym's Stronghold required starships to secure landing clearance from the Lok Space Station in orbit before gaining access. The city was known as a safe haven for outlaws, pirates, and smugglers.
The construction of Nym's Stronghold occurred sometime after the Lok Revenants reclaimed their former base from the Trade Federation during the early stages of the Clone Wars. By the time of the Battle of Yavin, Nym had risen to become the sole leader of Lok, and the city could effectively be considered his capital. Despite this, Nym remained a pirate and was hesitant to handle the everyday affairs of the city. Following the Battle of Yavin, a group of dissatisfied citizens protested near Nym's stronghold due to a shortage of potable water. As a result, Nym was compelled to dispatch his subordinates to repair the water treatment facility. Around the same period, Ran Machado, another Revenant, was tasked by Nym with removing some of the unwanted vegetation within the Stronghold.
Nym's Stronghold served as the starting point for the Lok Marathon swoop race. In the time following the Battle of Yavin, the champion Kimmi Chyler would regularly visit the city to participate in the race. During one particular race, a gunfight broke out between the smuggler Dash Rendar and ISB Captain Jeffren Brek.
Following the Battle of Yavin, Han Solo and Chewbacca journeyed to the Stronghold. Given Nym's sympathy towards the Rebel Alliance, they sought to persuade him to actively support the Rebellion. Dusque Mistflier and Finn Darktrin also visited the city in 1 ABY and met with Nym at his fortress.
In that same year, Nym's Stronghold hosted a grand anniversary celebration known as Nym's Anniversary Bash.
