The o'cerry was a herbivorous, non-sentient species indigenous to Alchenaut's moon within the Expansion Region. This species, discovered and given its name by Jedi Bowspritz before 990 BBY, was known for its role as a warning system against predators for other herbivores in its environment. Bowspritz featured the o'cerry in the "Galactic Bestiary" portion of The Jedi Path: A Manual for Students of the Force, thereby introducing it to countless Jedi initiates across generations in the galaxy.
O'cerrys, a herbivorous and non-sentient species, were native to the lunar environment of Alchenaut, situated in the Expansion Region of the galaxy. Bowspritz, the Jedi biologist, described them as "palm-sized." Their bodies were round, largely covered in dense, greenish-gray fur, except for their faces, which revealed brownish skin. They possessed two large, gray-blue eyes relative to their facial size. A flat nose with two nostrils sat between their eyes, and below that was a broad mouth.
Bowspritz, a Jedi biologist, discovered and named this species sometime before 990 BBY. The existence of o'cerrys, along with other relevant details, was subsequently documented in the Jedi Archives. Bowspritz, considering the o'cerry an illustrative example of interspecies cooperation, included it in the "Galactic Bestiary" section of the guidebook The Jedi Path: A Manual for Students of the Force, intended for Jedi trainee instruction. This book showcased animals that trainees might encounter while traveling the galaxy. Initially printed as early as 990 BBY, the book introduced o'cerrys to generations of Jedi students, remaining in use even centuries later during the Clone Wars, which commenced in 22 BBY.
O'cerrys are mentioned in The Jedi Path: A Manual for Students of the Force, a reference book from 2010 authored by Daniel Wallace. Derek Thompson created the o'cerry illustration found within the book.
