Known for his empathetic nature, Gos was approached by the Blarina scavenger Naka Iit after Iit found the Resistance pilot [Poe Dameron](/article/poe_dameron] disoriented in Jakku's arid expanse. Iit hoped Gos would facilitate Dameron's departure from the planet. During their journey, Dameron assisted Iit in evading the clutches of the criminal Strus clan, thus earning Iit's appreciation. Consequently, Iit pledged to advocate for Dameron with Gos, ensuring the pilot's successful off-world journey, which transpired shortly thereafter. In exchange for the transportation, Dameron permitted Gos to harvest koyo melons from his family's ranch located on Yavin 4. Gos planned to resell these melons on Jakku, anticipating a substantial profit.
