Ord Dalet

This terrestrial planet, known as Ord Dalet, resided within the Ord Dalet system, which itself was part of the Sertar sector. The sector was located within the Trans-Hydian region of the Outer Rim Territories.

The Galactic Republic established Ord Dalet as an Ordnance/Regional Depot outpost sometime after the beginning of the Old Sith Wars, a conflict spanning from 3996 BBY to 3956 BBY. The naming convention, utilizing letters from the Common Sith writing system, stemmed from the exchanges of personnel between the Republic's military forces and those serving the Sith tradition of Force-users. Ord Dalet, designated with the letter "dalet," became one of these depots. This detail was later highlighted by xenolinguist Doctor Milanda Vorgan in her 38 ABY publication, "The Written Word: A Brief Introduction to the Writing Systems of Galactic Basic."

In approximately 3638 BBY, a member of the Shi'ido species, known for their shapeshifting abilities and sentient nature, was admitted for medical treatment on Ord Dalet. Given the unique biology of the Shi'ido, an individual aligned with one of the factions involved in the ongoing struggle between the Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire dispatched an associate to aid in the patient's care and study.

A hospital was present on Ord Dalet.

The article "The Written Word," penned by John Hazlett and published on StarWars.com Hyperspace on March 5, 2010, introduced Ord Dalet to the lore. The Online Companion to the 2009 reference book, The Essential Atlas, specified the location of the Ord Dalet system, and consequently the planet itself, as grid square R-5.
